Experience Menorca’s coast from aboard a traditional Balearic llaut, where history and comfort meet. The Niu Blau, a restored Truyol 36, offers a private escape to hidden coves and crystal-clear waters, guided by a knowledgeable skipper who tailors the route to your day. With space for seven guests, this trip combines relaxation, snorkelling, and exploration at a pace that suits you.
Boarding at Puerto de Mahón, guests are welcomed aboard the Niu Blau, which features a spacious sundeck at the bow for lounging, a large storage compartment below deck, and a stern area with a table, bathing platform, ladder, and shower for easy sea access.
Journeys are adapted to the group’s preferences and conditions. Swim, snorkel, or relax on deck while the skipper navigates to secluded beaches. Clear waters and hidden coves provide perfect settings for underwater exploration and memorable moments captured in underwater photos.
A picnic with local products and non-alcoholic drinks is served during the day. Optional extras, including organic sunscreens, waist bags for collecting plastics, and an illustrated Mediterranean guide, enhance both comfort and sustainability.
Departures take place from Puerto de Mahón, Menorca’s natural harbour and one of the largest and deepest in the Mediterranean. Its sheltered waters provide a safe and convenient boarding point, with free parking nearby for easy access. From here, the llaut can navigate to both the north and south coasts of the island, opening up access to secluded beaches, hidden coves, and crystal-clear waters that are otherwise unreachable by land.
The surrounding waters are calm and ideal for swimming, snorkelling, and leisurely sailing. Depending on weather and sea conditions, the skipper selects a route that highlights Menorca’s natural beauty, passing rocky cliffs, quiet inlets, and stretches of unspoilt coastline. Along the journey, guests may also spot local marine wildlife and enjoy panoramic views of the island’s landscapes, combining both relaxation and exploration in a single day on the Mediterranean.
Guests should feel comfortable in the water for snorkelling stops, and children require adult supervision. Individuals with mobility or medical considerations should inform the skipper in advance.
No prior boating experience is required. Swimwear, towels, and sun protection are recommended. Guidance on equipment and safety is provided throughout the day to ensure a stress-free outing.
A Truyol 36 llaut like the Niu Blau offers both stability and traditional charm. Its wide bow sundeck, spacious stern area, and large bathing platform provide comfort and accessibility, making it ideal for relaxing or swimming. The recent 2024 restoration preserved craftsmanship while improving safety and convenience.
Guests benefit from the skipper’s decades of experience navigating Menorca’s waters. His knowledge of secluded coves, historical sites, and marine life allows for personalised guidance. Attention to detail—from route planning to picnic service—ensures a safe, enjoyable, and memorable day for every guest.
The Niu Blau is a Truyol 36, a classic Balearic sailing vessel built in 1982 and recently restored in 2024. Its design combines traditional craftsmanship with modern enhancements, offering both stability and comfort. The wide bow sundeck provides a spacious area for sunbathing, reading, or simply enjoying the sea breeze, while the stern area features a large table ideal for meals or an aperitif. A bathing platform with ladder and shower ensures safe and easy access to the water for swimming or snorkelling, and the below-deck storage compartment keeps all belongings secure yet accessible.
Unlike many modern boats, the llaut offers a unique sense of connection to Menorca’s maritime heritage. Guests benefit from its smooth handling in the calm Mediterranean waters, which makes even less experienced sailors feel at ease. This traditional vessel, combined with the expertise of an attentive skipper, creates an experience that blends history, comfort, and private exploration.
The llaut accommodates up to seven guests per trip, which allows for a truly personalised and relaxed experience. This small group size ensures that the skipper can tailor the day according to individual preferences, whether that means extra time for swimming, snorkelling, or simply lounging on the sundeck.
Having fewer guests also means that everyone can interact comfortably, enjoy the scenic stops without feeling crowded, and receive personal guidance on the boat’s facilities and safety. It allows for flexible itineraries where guests can influence the pace and focus of the day.
Yes, snorkelling is included in the experience, and masks and tubes are provided for all participants. The skipper selects the calmest, clearest waters for these stops, ensuring safe and enjoyable conditions for both beginners and confident swimmers.
Guests can also capture underwater memories thanks to the inclusion of souvenir photos. The llaut’s large bathing platform with ladder and shower facilitates easy entry and exit from the water, making snorkelling accessible for all ages and abilities.
Absolutely. The skipper adapts the day’s route according to weather, tides, and guest preferences. Whether you want to focus on discovering hidden coves, visiting scenic beaches, or stopping frequently for swimming and snorkelling, the itinerary can be shaped to suit the group.
Local knowledge allows the skipper to highlight areas that are less crowded and particularly scenic. You may pass rocky cliffs, quiet inlets, and stretches of untouched coastline that are impossible to access without a private boat, making each journey unique.
Yes, a picnic of local Menorcan products and non-alcoholic drinks is included. The picnic is served on the spacious stern deck, allowing guests to enjoy a meal while taking in sea views and fresh air.
Guests can also bring additional snacks or beverages if desired. The skipper is happy to provide recommendations for enhancing the onboard meal, ensuring that dietary needs and preferences are accommodated wherever possible.
Children are welcome on board, provided they are supervised by an adult at all times. Swimming and snorkelling stops are carefully monitored to ensure safety, and the boat’s calm handling makes it suitable for families.
The small group size allows for a relaxed pace, meaning children can participate without feeling rushed. The llaut provides a secure environment, and the skipper can assist with safety guidance and activities to ensure children have an enjoyable and memorable experience.
Yes, Puerto de Mahón provides free parking near the boarding area, which makes accessing the boat convenient for those travelling by car. The port is well-signposted and easy to navigate, reducing any stress about arrival times or vehicle security.
This convenience allows guests to focus on their experience rather than logistics. The boarding area is also safe and well-maintained, with space to prepare for the trip and organise personal belongings before departing.
