You'll advance your teaching career with the PADI IDC Staff Instructor course in Cabo de Palos, learning to assist Course Directors, mentor instructor candidates, and sharpen evaluation skills during live Instructor Development Course weeks.
Staff-level workshops refine evaluation skills, IDC logistics, schedule management, and candidate coaching while you assist on teaching presentations, standards reviews, and water sessions run from our harbour centre.
Advanced feedback loops prepare you to support Course Directors during future IDCs run from Mediterranean centres like ours, with real candidates in the water rather than simulated classrooms alone. Expect long days aligned to IDC timetables and debriefs on how to give constructive candidate notes.
Staff training cycles use our facilities on Paseo Dimas Ortega 18 and the same open-water sites IDC candidates practise on, including confined areas for skill demonstrations and boat days when presentations move offshore.
Mentoring happens in real course environments where students, boats, and cylinder logistics mirror peak-season centre life, so you learn staff duties where instructors actually work each summer.
Instructor certification with experience assisting IDCs is expected before staff training. Course Directors confirm eligibility case by case based on your teaching history and recent PADI credentials.
Teaching experience and a calm candidate coaching demeanour are as important as credential checks. Block your calendar for full IDC attendance because partial presence does not meet staff performance standards.

Legacy skills in evaluation and mentorship differentiate staff instructors in hiring and centre leadership roles, building on the same Cabo de Palos sites where you may have trained as a Divemaster or OWSI.

About the centre
Cabo de Palos
You'll dive on one of the most celebrated stretches of the Spanish Mediterranean, where the Cabo de Palos headland meets clear open water and protected seagrass meadows. Our team runs relaxed guided days, PADI training, and refresher sessions from a harbour-side base, with small groups and patient coaching whether you're blowing bubbles for the first time or logging another fun dive.
From shore entries and daily boat dives to specialty courses and seasonal dive trips, we keep the day well organised so you spend more time underwater. Equipment hire, briefings, and local site knowledge are part of how we work, and we're happy to help you plan the right experience for your certification level and the conditions on the day.
