This private Discover Scuba Diving experience is designed for non-certified divers who want more time underwater and a deeper introduction to scuba. With two guided dives from a boat, it allows you to build confidence gradually while exploring Okinawa’s coral reefs under close instructor supervision.
The session is structured, calm, and fully supported, making it suitable for first-time divers who want a more complete experience than a single introductory dive.
The session begins at the port with paperwork and a detailed briefing covering equipment use, breathing techniques, safety procedures, and what to expect during the dives. This is paced carefully, allowing time to ask questions before boarding the boat and travelling to the first dive site.
At the first site, you’ll enter the water gradually and practise basic skills at shallow depth before continuing the dive. The instructor stays close throughout, managing buoyancy and positioning while letting you focus on breathing, movement, and enjoying the underwater environment. The first dive is used to build comfort and familiarity rather than rushing progression.
After a surface interval onboard, the boat moves to a second dive site selected on the day based on conditions. The second dive allows you to apply what you’ve learned with greater confidence, often feeling more relaxed and aware underwater. Photos and short video clips are taken during both dives and shared afterwards at no extra cost.
Diving takes place by boat around Minna Island, Sesoko Island, or coastal areas near Motobu in northern Okinawa. These sites offer shallow reefs, good visibility, and conditions well suited to introductory scuba diving.
The final dive locations are chosen on the day by the boat captain after assessing weather, swell, and visibility. This flexible approach prioritises safety and comfort over fixed locations.
No prior scuba certification or experience is required. Participants must be comfortable in the water, able to follow instructions, and meet the minimum age requirement of 10 years. All training and equipment are provided during the session.
For safety and insurance reasons, this activity is not suitable for people with certain medical conditions, including heart or respiratory issues, epilepsy, diabetes, recent surgeries, or low levels of fitness. Height, weight, and age limits apply. A minimum no-fly interval of 18 hours is required after completing the dives.
This experience is run privately, allowing the instructor to tailor the pace, depth, and level of support to your comfort level across both dives. Having two dives in one session gives you time to relax, improve, and enjoy the underwater environment more fully.
Instruction is provided by a highly experienced bilingual instructor with extensive international diving experience. Equipment is professionally maintained and cleaned after every use, safety procedures are clearly explained, and photography is included so you can focus on the experience itself.
No experience is required. This programme is designed specifically for people who have never dived before.
All skills are taught step by step, and the instructor controls depth and pace throughout both dives.
The first dive focuses on learning and getting comfortable underwater, while the second dive allows you to relax and enjoy the reef with more confidence.
Many participants find the second dive more enjoyable once initial nerves have passed.
Dives are kept within beginner-appropriate depths and adjusted to your comfort level rather than a fixed maximum depth.
The instructor manages buoyancy and ascent at all times.
Dive time varies depending on comfort, air consumption, and conditions, but the overall schedule allows sufficient time for two proper dives.
The session also includes briefing, boat travel, and surface intervals.
