The day begins at 08:30 with a meeting at Ardvonnie Car Park in Kingussie. From there, you’ll start with a briefing on basic navigation skills, including how to read maps and use a compass effectively. Your instructor will guide you through the essential techniques for planning a safe and enjoyable route, tailored to different types of terrain and weather conditions.
Throughout the day, you’ll practice these skills on the ground, applying them to real-world scenarios. You will receive personalised guidance and feedback, ensuring that you develop confidence in your newfound abilities. The session aims to conclude by 15:30, with a debrief back at Kingussie, where you can reflect on the day and ask any final questions.
