The session takes place at Lower Greenshall Lane in Disley, along a calm section of the Peak Forest Canal near Bridge 27. This part of the canal is known for its steady water conditions, making it well-suited to relaxed paddling. The surrounding area sits on the edge of the Peak District, offering a quiet countryside setting with nearby walking routes and open green spaces. Despite its rural feel, it remains easily accessible from surrounding towns.
Participants must be able to swim at least 25 metres unaided and be medically fit to take part. Alcohol or drugs must not be consumed before or during the session. All participants are required to follow safety instructions at all times and wear a buoyancy aid while on or near the water. Children under 14 must share a kayak with an adult.

Weather can vary, so bringing an extra layer or waterproof clothing can make the experience more comfortable, especially if conditions change during your session.
Weather conditions can affect water-based activities, so sessions may be adjusted if it’s not safe to go ahead. It’s always a good idea to check conditions before travelling.
If changes are needed, you’ll usually be informed in advance. This helps ensure that your time on the water remains safe and enjoyable.
Arriving a little before your booked time is recommended so you can get ready without rushing. This gives you time to check in and prepare for the session.
Starting on time ensures you get the full two hours on the water, so planning a slightly earlier arrival helps make the most of your booking.
