Looking for an exciting introduction to wing sports without jumping straight onto a foil board? This Wing SUP class is designed specifically for complete beginners, providing a simple and accessible way to learn how to control a wing while riding a stable stand-up paddleboard. Combining expert instruction with additional practice time, it's an ideal first step into the world of wingfoiling.
Your session begins on land where you'll be introduced to the wing and learn how it generates power from the wind. The instructor will explain the basic handling techniques, safety procedures and body positioning needed to control the wing effectively. You'll spend time practising wing movements on shore before taking your first steps onto the water.
Once you're comfortable with the basics, you'll head into the sheltered waters of Pollensa Bay using a large and stable stand-up paddleboard. Unlike wingfoil lessons, this introductory course does not use a hydrofoil board, allowing you to focus entirely on learning wing control and balance without the added challenge of lifting above the water. Your instructor will guide you through the process of entering and leaving the water safely while helping you develop confidence with the equipment.
Following the guided lesson, you'll enjoy an additional hour of practice time using the equipment. This extra session allows you to reinforce what you've learned and continue developing your skills at your own pace. By the end of the experience, you'll have a strong understanding of the fundamentals and be well prepared to progress onto more advanced wingfoil training if desired.
Pollensa Bay provides excellent conditions for learning wing sports thanks to its open spaces, shallow areas and generally favourable wind conditions. These features make it an ideal environment for beginners looking to gain confidence while learning something completely new.
Students have access to premium facilities including hot showers, changing rooms, exclusive student areas, a swimming pool and a sea-facing bar and restaurant. The surrounding area also offers beaches, cafés and scenic coastal views, making it a great place to spend the day.
No previous experience is required. This course has been specifically designed for complete beginners who want to experience wing-powered watersports for the first time.
Participants should bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a towel and drinks. Basic swimming ability and a willingness to learn are all that's needed to enjoy the session.
This course has been developed specifically as an introduction to wing sports, removing many of the challenges associated with learning directly on a hydrofoil board. By starting on a stable SUP board, students can focus on understanding the wing and building confidence before progressing further.
Qualified instructors provide patient and supportive coaching within an authorised private teaching area. Combined with premium facilities, quality equipment and excellent learning conditions, students receive everything needed for a positive first experience on the water.
