The Goodland trip is three days of guided cycling based in Tabernas, Almería, with two hotel nights and long days on gravel and quiet roads. It is aimed at experienced riders who already manage distance, sun, and climbing in places such as the Tabernas desert and the Sierra de los Filabres.
Each day starts and finishes in Tabernas, with a full ride through Almería countryside that can include desert tracks near the film sets, gravel toward the Filabres, and loops agreed for your booking. The leader keeps a controlled pace and builds in stops for food and water because the distances and heat make self-sufficiency important.
Evenings are at your hotel, with breakfast included the following morning. Lunches and dinners are not part of the standard package, and the daily route is drawn for your group rather than copied from an open sportive event.
Tabernas sits in Almería province, known for desert scenery used in classic films and for gravel access toward the Sierra de los Filabres and routes that link toward Cabo de Gata when your itinerary includes them. The riding mixes long sightlines on quiet tracks with firmer climbs in the mountains.
April often brings daytime temperatures around twenty degrees Celsius with little rain on the route, while summer can be significantly hotter. Sun protection, plenty of water, and realistic pacing matter as much as leg strength on these days.
Two nights in a selected hotel are included, normally in a standard double room, with breakfast served each morning before you ride. You can request a single room when you book, and we will confirm availability and any supplement.
Other meals are for you to arrange in Tabernas or along the route unless specific stops are written into your confirmed itinerary. The hotel stay is there to give you recovery time between long days on the bike.
The trip is rated high difficulty because of daily mileage, gravel climbs, and time in the sun, so it suits riders who already finish all-day routes comfortably. You need to carry and consume enough food and drink between the planned stops, because the distances do not allow for casual under-fuelling.
When you enquire, tell us about your recent riding and how you handle heat so we can suggest dates and daily targets that feel achievable. This is not a first multi-day tour for someone new to long-distance cycling.
Goodland routes are designed from Tabernas outward, using local knowledge of desert wind, Filabres gravel, and optional coastal links rather than a one-size-fits-all map. Your leader plans each day with the group that booked the trip, adjusting distance when weather or fatigue requires it.
Hotels are selected for location and service that suit cyclists staying two nights while riding hard days in the province. The aim is a coherent three-day block where logistics stay simple and the focus stays on the road.
Day one leaves Tabernas on gravel that crosses lunar desert scenery and linked farm tracks, with hydration stops planned before exposure builds. Distance targets sit in the sixty to seventy-five kilometre band unless we agree a softer opener for jet-lagged legs.
Evening is recovery at the hotel while the guide reads wind forecasts for the next ridge.
Day two pushes into Filabres gravel with long climbs and wide views when conditions allow. Snacks are staged rather than rushed, and exposed sections may be trimmed if heat or wind spikes midday.
You sleep a second night at the hotel before the farewell loop.
Day three closes the trip with a route shaped by what your group enjoyed most, perhaps coastal tracks in Cabo de Gata or quieter desert spurs. Mileage stays flexible within the agreed band before bikes are washed and bags packed in Tabernas.
We debrief over coffee and help with onward travel or boxing bikes for flights.
Expect roughly sixty to seventy-five kilometres per day with six to eight hours on the bike when heat and wind allow a steady rhythm. Gravel dominates the surface mix, and climbs in the Filabres sector demand respect even for fit riders.
Your guide can peel distance off the plan if the group fades or the desert heat spikes, so speak up early rather than suffering in silence.
This trip is rated high difficulty because of distance, sun exposure, and long gravel climbs rather than because of technical stunts. You should already be comfortable fuelling yourself on all-day rides and managing heat between stops.
Describe your recent riding when you enquire so we can suggest April or cooler windows honestly, and so we know whether to trim the first day's mileage after travel.
Two hotel nights are included with breakfast each morning in a standard double room. Singles are available on request with any supplement confirmed before you travel.
Evening meals are usually independent unless we book restaurants for your group in advance, which keeps flexibility after long days on the bike.
Tabernas in Almería province is the hub for briefings, luggage, and the start and finish of each day. Exact hotel names and pins arrive once dates and room types are confirmed.
Airport transfers are not part of the base package unless we quote them separately when you enquire, so plan Tabernas arrival the evening before day one when you fly in.
Bring a gravel or endurance bike in good order, or ask about hire when you enquire through Adventuro Chat if we have suitable stock for your dates. Helmets are mandatory and personal nutrition between stops is your responsibility.
Share tyre choice and gearing preferences early so we can flag any spare-part limitations in remote sectors before you pack the bike box.
April often brings daytime highs around twenty degrees with low rain odds, yet desert sections still punish slow hydration. Summer departures rely on very early starts and strict shade planning.
The guide adjusts daily mileage when heat indices or wind make exposed ridges unsafe, and will discuss any change with the group at breakfast rather than mid-climb.
Loops can touch Tabernas film landscapes, Filabres gravel passes, and Cabo de Gata viewpoints when we design your private itinerary. Nothing is a fixed stage race; priorities you name when enquiring shape the map.
Film history, coastal tracks, or mountain hardness can lead the plan depending on what your group wants to remember from the three days.
This trip targets experienced adult riders because of mileage, heat, and gravel climbs. Teenagers with strong endurance may join when a guardian supervises them and the whole group accepts the daily distance.
It is not suited to young children or first-time tour riders; tell us ages and recent riding history when you enquire so we can advise honestly.
Sandstorms, gale winds, or heavy rain can make desert crossings or exposed ridges reckless, so we reroute, pause, or shorten rather than insist. Local knowledge of sheltered valleys near Tabernas informs the backup plan.
Decisions are discussed with the group each morning instead of forcing the original line in unsafe air, and we may swap hotel rest days if storms persist.
Travel to Tabernas, insurance, lunches, dinners, personal tools, and optional cultural stops sit outside the base package unless written into your confirmed itinerary. Single-room supplements apply only when requested.
Bike boxes and airport logistics are yours unless we add a quoted pickup, and you should carry enough food and water between planned stops each day.
