Get a different perspective on Glasgow with this guided three-hour cycle tour through the heart of the city. From riverfront paths and historic buildings to green parks and cultural landmarks, this route takes in many of the sights that make Glasgow unique. The pace is easy-going and suitable for all experience levels.
Setting off from the Drygate area, your guide will lead you through Glasgow Green towards the People’s Palace and the striking Templeton building, whose Venetian-style façade gives a surprising twist to the city’s industrial history. From here, the tour follows the River Clyde, crossing several of its well-known bridges, with stories behind each nickname and design. Along the way, you’ll pass sites like the Clydeside Distillery, the Clyde Auditorium (known locally as the Armadillo), and the Finnieston Crane—each a reminder of Glasgow’s shipbuilding and engineering heritage.
The route continues towards the West End through Kelvingrove Park, offering a glimpse of the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and the historic buildings of Glasgow University. You'll follow quiet paths along the River Kelvin and Scotland’s first canal before looping back towards the city centre. The final leg includes Glasgow Cathedral, the Provand’s Lordship, and the Necropolis—two of the city’s oldest remaining medieval sites. A stop midway for a treat keeps the energy up before finishing back at Drygate, where optional food and drink are nearby.
The tour begins and ends at Drygate in Glasgow’s East End, just a short walk from Glasgow Cathedral and the city centre. It’s easily accessible by public transport, with free secure parking also available for those arriving by car.
