Pedal your way through Glasgow’s vibrant history and cultural landmarks before topping off your experience with a behind-the-scenes tour and tasting at the city’s most famous brewery. This 4.5-hour guided ride combines the best of the Glasgow City & Clyde Bridges Bike Tour with an added visit to Tennents Brewery, complete with a fresh pint at the end. A great choice for anyone keen to learn about the city while enjoying its most iconic beer.
The tour begins outside the Drygate, one of Glasgow’s most popular microbreweries, where your guide will kit you out with a bike (or check your own if you’ve brought it along) and introduce you to the route. From here, you'll cycle down to Glasgow Green to visit the People’s Palace, a social history museum set among parkland, offering insight into the lives of Glaswegians from the 1800s to the present day. Continuing along the Clyde, you’ll pass icons like the Clyde Auditorium—locally known as ‘The Armadillo’—and the Finnieston Crane, a towering relic of Glasgow’s shipbuilding past.
Your route weaves through the West End, passing through leafy Kelvingrove Park and alongside the River Kelvin. Stops include the Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Glasgow University, and the Botanic Gardens, before heading back through the city centre. You’ll finish with a ride past Glasgow Cathedral, Provand’s Lordship, and the Necropolis, which offer a glimpse into the city’s medieval and Victorian roots. The final stop is a guided tour of Tennents Brewery, where you’ll learn about the brewing process and enjoy a well-earned pint in the place where it's made.
This tour takes place in central Glasgow, starting and ending at the Drygate Brewery on Drygate Street. It's easily accessible by foot or public transport from most city centre locations.
The route is predominantly flat and designed to be easy-going, giving you plenty of time to take in the surroundings without feeling rushed. Bike-friendly paths and quieter city roads are used throughout.
This tour is suitable for anyone with basic cycling confidence. You should be comfortable riding a bike for short distances on public cycleways and urban roads.
