Link Fortuna Waterfall, Arenal volcano trails, and the Mistico hanging bridges into one long guided day from La Fortuna, with shared transport and a bilingual guide who keeps the schedule moving without you booking three separate trips. It is an active itinerary with stairs, forest walking, and canopy bridges, balanced with swim time and photo stops when conditions allow.
Morning pickup or meeting in town leads into the first major stop at Fortuna Waterfall, where you descend a long stairway to the plunge pool, take photos at the base, and swim when water levels and time allow before climbing back up with your guide setting a steady rhythm for the group. From there you transfer toward the ecological park sector for roughly two hours on volcano forest trails, lagoon viewpoints, and wildlife interpretation while your guide manages entries and driving legs so you are not juggling separate arrangements between sites. Lunch fits into the middle of the day according to your booked inclusions, giving everyone time to dry off, refill bottles, and prepare for the afternoon bridge section without rushing through the meal.
Afternoon focus shifts to Mistico Hanging Bridges, where you walk the one-way canopy circuit with staff stationed along the course and your guide keeping the shared group spaced so other visitors can pass safely on stairs and open walkways. Weather can differ between waterfall spray, humid forest, and breezy bridge heights in a single day, so layers and rain gear help you stay comfortable from the first stair descent to the final transfer back toward La Fortuna. what you book shows whether hotel pickup is included so drivers can plan an efficient route the night before departure.
Each stop sits in Arenal's green belt within driving distance of La Fortuna, from the cliff-backed pool below Fortuna Waterfall to lava-edge forest at the volcano and elevated walkways at Mistico Park. The roads between sites pass farmland and forest margins where weather can change quickly, which is why we recommend starting with sturdy footwear and keeping a rain layer in your daypack.
Bridge sections expose you to height and open air even when the forest floor feels sheltered, so anyone uneasy with drop-offs should stay near the handrails and communicate early with the guide about pacing. Volcano views remain weather dependent throughout the day, and your guide will use clear moments for longer photo stops when the schedule allows.
Expect hundreds of waterfall stairs, several hours of walking overall, and exposure to height on bridges, which means regular walking fitness and closed-toe shoes with grip are essential for enjoying the combo safely. Children need close supervision on wet steps, shared paths, and open walkways throughout the long day.
Contact us before booking if anyone has mobility concerns or if you travel with toddlers, because we can advise honestly on whether this three-stop pace suits your party that week. Swimwear and a towel support the waterfall stop when swimming is permitted, and repellent helps during humid forest sections between drives.
We run full-day combo routes around La Fortuna regularly, which means our guides know how to sequence waterfall, park, and bridge entries to reduce backtracking when crowds and rain compress the schedule. Drivers and guides work as one team with briefings in English and Spanish, and we coordinate the linked entries shown with your booking instead of leaving you to verify three separate gate procedures alone.
Our office stays in town, so pickup questions, late hotel changes, and practical advice about pacing this long day reach people who know the roads and park closing times from experience rather than a generic script. We aim for informative, safety-conscious guiding on busy combo days while still leaving room for wildlife pauses and photos when the group is ready.
Allow roughly nine hours from pickup to drop-off, including driving and all three major stops. Exact times follow the departure slot shown when you book.
Build a buffer afterwards because waterfall stairs, bridge crowds, or rain can add modest delays on busy days.

Bring swimwear under hiking clothes or in your pack, plus a towel for the climb back up the stairs.
This is an active full day with long walking, steep stairs, and humid forest trails. It suits regular walkers rather than a gentle sightseeing drive.
Pace adjusts within reason for the group, but everyone should expect fatigue by the final bridge section.

Guides often spot birds, coatis, and sometimes sloths across the three sites, but sightings are never guaranteed. Quiet pauses on trails improve your odds.
Binoculars help on bridge sections where wildlife moves high in the canopy away from crowds below.
Light rain is common and tours usually continue with ponchos and careful footing on stairs and bridges. Guides may shorten swim time if storms build.
Severe weather can trigger cancellations or route changes according to park rules; we will explain rebooking options.
Families join regularly, but children must be supervised on waterfall stairs, bridge walkways, and uneven trails throughout the long day.
Contact the team if you travel with toddlers so they can advise on pacing and whether this combo suits your party.
