Join us for a relaxing full-day guided canoe trip along the River Ouse, perfect for families with children aged 4 and up. Paddle through peaceful countryside, spot local wildlife, and enjoy stops along the way to swim, eat, and explore at a gentle pace.
After meeting at Brampton Mill, your guide will run through a safety briefing and get everyone fitted with paddles and buoyancy aids. You’ll then set off on a relaxed paddle down the River Ouse, with instructors offering guidance along the way. The route is easygoing, with no significant currents, and is ideal for beginners, including families with young children.
As you move along the river, you’ll pass green meadows, overhanging trees, and a series of quiet bends and bridges. Wildlife is often spotted en route—kingfishers, herons, swans, and ducks are common companions, and there are plenty of chances to pause and take it all in. Your instructor will point out interesting sights and offer helpful tips on paddling technique throughout the day.
Lunch stops are informal—you're encouraged to bring your own food and drinks, and there are several natural spots along the way where you can sit, eat, and maybe take a swim if conditions allow. The group returns to Brampton Mill by late afternoon, with time to dry off, gather your kit, and reflect on the adventure.
