Discover a compact but rich slice of the Karaburun Peninsula on a shared speedboat trip from Vlorë. You visit the legendary Haxhi Ali Cave, linger at Dafina Bay and finish on quiet peninsula beaches with time to swim in clear Ionian water.
A shared speedboat carries you from Vlorë to Haxhi Ali Cave, where you have time to look into the chamber and swim near the boat when the skipper confirms conditions are calm. The main beach stop is Dafina Bay, backed by pine slopes and pebbles, with room to explore the smaller cave and snorkel in clear water. The route then continues to Bristan Bay and Saint Vasil beach, and when paths and seas allow you may walk to the twin coves of St Koli for a final swim before heading back. The pace is quicker than a big day boat, but you still get proper stops rather than a whistle-stop photo run.
Expect about five and a half hours on the water in total, usually returning to Vlorë by mid-afternoon with the rest of your day free. Pack snacks and drinking water because lunch is not included, and wear sunscreen and a hat for open deck time between stops. The crew briefs cave approaches clearly and adjusts the afternoon beach if swell builds on the outer shore, so families can enjoy the trip without needing any boating experience.
Trips start from the Cameria waterfront in Vlorë, looking across the bay toward Sazan and the mouth of Karaburun. The speedboat route stays on the peninsula side where pine slopes drop straight into pebble beaches and the water colour changes from green near shore to deep blue offshore.
Dafina Bay and Haxhi Ali sit on the same stretch of coast featured in longer Grama Bay tours, but this version focuses on the eastern coves and Saint Vasil without the all-day run to the far west.
Minimum age five makes this a practical family option. Children must stay with an adult on deck and in the water, and the crew will help with life jackets at boarding.
Speedboat motion is quicker and bumpier than a large shared boat in choppy weather. Anyone prone to seasickness should take precautions and mention it to the skipper before leaving the harbour.
We match boat size to demand so shared groups stay within the published cap, which keeps boarding orderly and gives families room to sit together.
Skippers brief cave approaches clearly before anyone enters the water, and they adjust the afternoon beach stop if swell builds on the outer shore.
Meet on Rruga Cameria in Vlorë (postcode 9401) at the time on your booking confirmation. Arrive a little early for boarding and the safety brief.
Public transport serves the waterfront; taxis are easy from hotels around Vlorë and the riviera. Summer parking can be busy, so allow extra time on peak days.
Expect about five and a half hours from check-in to return, covering Haxhi Ali Cave, Dafina Bay, Bristan and the Saint Vasil / St Koli area when conditions allow.
Your confirmation shows the exact departure time. A little extra time at Dafina is common when the group is enjoying calm water there.
Children from age five may join when accompanied by a responsible adult for the whole trip. The minimum on the booking page must be met on the travel date.
Very young guests should wear a life jacket whenever the crew advises, especially during cave approaches and boarding.
First-time boat guests are welcome. The team helps you on board, stows bags and explains where to sit during faster sections.
Snorkelling is optional at swimming stops. Ask the skipper about depth and currents before leaving the ladder.
Pack swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, a hat and drinking water. Snacks are handy because there is no meal service on this half-day route.
Bring a dry bag for electronics and consider motion-sickness tablets if you are sensitive on smaller boats.
Hotel pickup is not offered on this product. Travel independently to Rruga Cameria, Vlorë, for the departure printed on your voucher.
Waterfront taxis are easy to find from central hotels; walking from nearby guesthouses is possible in good weather.
Cave entry and beach landings need manageable swell. Unsafe conditions can mean a delayed start, a shorter coastal route or cancellation with rebook or refund options.
The skipper may skip St Koli walks if paths are wet or seas are choppy near the landing.
Shared speedboat seats are limited to the maximum group size on this page, plus crew. That cap keeps the boat balanced and speeds up boarding at each stop.
If you need a boat for your family or group alone, book the private charter product instead of this shared Dafina departure.
You can watch the coastline from the deck while others swim at Dafina or Saint Vasil. Jackets are available when you stand near the edge.
Let the crew know before departure if you prefer to stay dry; they will suggest the safest spots to sit during swim stops.
Life jackets and emergency equipment are standard on every departure, along with a medical kit. The briefing covers where to find sizes for children and adults.
Wear a jacket during transfers and whenever the skipper calls for them near caves or in choppy water.
Free cancellation applies up to twenty-four hours before the start time shown at checkout. Inside that window, changes depend on spare seats and may be treated as a new booking.
No-shows forfeit the fare. Operator cancellations for safety come with a rebook or full refund.
