Short on time but want the cave and the clearest water on the peninsula? This half-day speedboat trip heads straight to Haxhi Ali Cave, then gives you a relaxed afternoon at Karaburun beaches within easy reach of Vlorë.
After a quick run from Vlorë you reach Haxhi Ali Cave, with time inside the chamber and beside the boat while the skipper watches swell and keeps the group clear of the rock walls. From there the speedboat slows along the Karaburun shore for swimming stops at beaches such as Dhim Kushta and Saint Vasil, where you can float off the pebbles, snorkel over clear patches, or stay on deck with a towel if you prefer not to swim. When paths are dry the crew may include a short walk to the twin coves of St Koli Bay before you head back toward harbour in mid-afternoon. You get the signature cave and blue water without committing to a full-day Grama loop.
The half-day format suits families and travellers with evening plans, with room on deck for children and clear instructions near the rails. Bring snacks and drinking water because lunch is not served on board. If conditions at the cave are rough, the captain may hold outside and add extra beach time instead of forcing an entry, so you still leave with a full coastal experience rather than a rushed turnaround.
This half-day loop stays on the Karaburun shore closest to Vlorë, so you reach Haxhi Ali quickly and still have time at Saint Vasil pebble beaches. The meeting point on Cameria street is the same harbour used for longer Grama and Sazan departures.
From the water you see how the peninsula shields the city bay while the outer face drops into deep Ionian blue. That contrast makes the cave visit feel dramatic even on a short ticket.
Age five and up with an accompanying adult suits this brisk format. You should be comfortable with roughly forty minutes of boat travel each way and occasional spray on the bow.
No swimming is required. Non-swimmers can photograph the cave from deck while others dip in at Saint Vasil, and life jackets are available whenever you are near the waterline.
Half-day timing suits travellers who want the signature cave without committing to an eight-hour loop. Departures are paced so you still get meaningful beach time after the cave.
Captains know when to hold position outside Haxhi Ali if swell rises, swapping extra swimming minutes at Saint Vasil instead of forcing a risky entry.
Meet on Rruga Cameria in Vlorë (postcode 9401) at the time on your booking confirmation. Arrive a little early for boarding and the safety brief.
Public transport serves the waterfront; taxis are easy from hotels around Vlorë and the riviera. Summer parking can be busy, so allow extra time on peak days.
Allow about four hours from harbour check-in to return, including the run to Haxhi Ali Cave and swimming time at Saint Vasil and nearby coves.
Exact minutes inside the cave depend on swell and how many guests swim at once. Your skipper may add beach time if the chamber needs a calmer window before entry.
Guests aged five and older may join when accompanied by a responsible adult for the entire trip. The minimum printed on your booking must be met on the travel date.
Shorter sea legs suit younger children better than the full-day Grama route from the same harbour, but life jackets should still be worn whenever the crew advises near the cave.
Beginners are welcome on this shared speedboat. The crew handles mooring at the cave and explains where to sit during faster sections along the coast.
Snorkelling is optional at Saint Vasil. Stay within sight of the boat, follow hand signals, and ask the skipper about depth before you leave the ladder.
Bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, drinking water and light snacks for a four-hour trip. There is no galley service on board.
A dry bag protects phones from spray on the run to Haxhi Ali. Non-slip shoes make boarding easier than smooth sandals alone.
Transfers from hotels or the airport are not part of this fare. Navigate to Rruga Cameria, Vlorë, for the departure time in your confirmation email.
Central hotels are a short taxi ride from the waterfront boarding area, and many guests walk in under twenty minutes from the main promenade in summer.
Cave visits need calm enough water to approach safely. Poor conditions may mean more time at beaches, a delayed start, or cancellation with rebook or refund options under the stated policy.
The captain decides at the harbour. Half-day trips can sometimes run when longer offshore loops cannot, but safety always comes before entering the cave chamber.
Shared seats go up to the maximum group size shown on this page, plus crew. The limit keeps boarding quick and gives families room to sit together on a half-day schedule.
Private charter products use the same waters with your party only if you need exclusivity or a custom start time.
You can view Haxhi Ali from the deck and skip swimming at Saint Vasil. Life jackets are available when you stand near the rail or during photo stops.
Mention any concerns at check-in so the crew can point out the calmest side of the boat and suggest seating away from spray during stops.
Life jackets, emergency equipment and a medical kit travel on every departure. The briefing covers child sizes and when to wear jackets near the cave mouth.
Non-swimmers should keep a jacket on during transfers and whenever the skipper requests it, especially when other guests are in the water.
Free cancellation up to twenty-four hours before the listed start time secures a full refund. Later changes need availability on the same product and may reprice if fares have moved.
No-shows are charged in full. Weather or safety cancellations by the operator include a rebook on another date or a full refund.

Vlorë
We run guided boat and speedboat trips along the Albanian Riviera from Vlorë, visiting sea caves, hidden bays and islands such as Sazan and the Karaburun Peninsula. Our skippers know these waters well and keep groups comfortable whether you join a shared departure or book a private charter for your own pace.
Safety kit, life jackets and onboard support are part of every trip. We welcome families and mixed groups within the age and capacity limits for each route, and we monitor weather and sea conditions so you can focus on swimming, sightseeing and time on the water.
