Children aged 8 to 14 can enjoy a lively beach camp on the Cornish coast, combining water-based adventures, land challenges, and creative activities. With spacious accommodation, attentive supervision, and a team of friendly, qualified instructors, every day is designed for fun, learning, and confidence-building.
Campers can choose between 5-night and 2-night stays, each packed with activity and adventure. On arrival, children settle into their bunkhouse tents, meet the instructors, and get familiar with the site and beach. 2-night campers experience a condensed version of the full programme, enjoying a combination of water sports, land-based challenges, and creative sessions, while 5-night campers get the full range of activities plus excursions and extended evening programmes.
Water-based activities include kayaking along calm waters and sea caves, paddleboarding solo or on our large Mega SUPs, coasteering with safe rock scrambles and jumps, and surfing under expert guidance. These sessions focus on skill development, teamwork, and confidence, giving children the chance to try new experiences safely and have fun at the same time.
Land-based challenges complement the water activities. Campers can navigate the high ropes course, tackle climbing walls of varying difficulty, try archery and axe throwing, or participate in survival skills and bushcraft sessions including fire-making and shelter-building. Arts and crafts provide a creative outlet with t-shirt design, paint spinning, and hands-on projects. Evening activities differ for 2-night and 5-night campers; shorter stays may include a single campfire or games session, while longer stays enjoy silent discos, Colour War events, team challenges, and extended social activities that foster friendships. Excursions such as trips to the Eden Project are included in the 5-night programme, giving campers the chance to explore Cornwall’s iconic attractions and learn about its natural environment.
No two days are the same, and both 2-night and 5-night stays provide opportunities to build confidence, try new skills, and form lasting friendships in a safe and supportive environment. The programme is flexible, allowing children to choose their participation level in adventurous activities while ensuring everyone has fun and stays engaged.
Set on the picturesque Cornish coast at Porthpean, the camp benefits from a private beach, calm waters, and easy access to coastal trails and rocky coves. The natural surroundings provide the perfect setting for water sports, coasteering, and outdoor challenges while ensuring safety and supervision remain a priority.
The nearby area also offers opportunities for organised excursions, giving campers the chance to explore local landmarks such as the Eden Project, coastal paths, and secret beaches. The location balances accessibility with the feeling of adventure, providing a true outdoor experience while remaining close to local amenities.
Children stay in 30m² bunkhouse tents, each sleeping up to 8 campers. The tents include raised beds, padded flooring, and bean bags for a comfortable, homely feel. Each bunkhouse also has a small common area with sofas and games, encouraging social interaction and downtime between activities.
Bedding is provided, including a duvet, pillow, and fitted sheet, so campers can travel light while still enjoying a cosy sleeping environment. The layout and facilities allow children to feel independent while remaining under the watchful eye of staff who are always available to provide support and supervision.
Campers should have a reasonable level of fitness and be prepared to take part in both water-based and land-based activities. All abilities are welcome, and activities are structured so each child can participate at their own pace and comfort level. Children should bring suitable outdoor and water sports clothing, footwear, and swimwear.
While specialist equipment for kayaking, paddleboarding, coasteering, and climbing is provided on site, children should be ready to follow instructions and work as part of a team. The camp is designed to promote personal growth, confidence, and teamwork, so an open-minded attitude and willingness to try new activities will help campers get the most from their stay.

The camp environment encourages friendships, confidence, and independence, allowing children to enjoy memorable experiences in a supportive, friendly setting. Staff are always on hand to guide, support, and inspire, ensuring every child leaves feeling accomplished and happy.
We understand that many parents have work commitments and may need help with transportation. Our chaperone service is here to provide a convenient solution for getting your child safely to and from our camp in Cornwall.
This optional service offers a fully accompanied minibus journey between Newbury train station and Porthpean, Cornwall, making travel hassle-free for both you and your child.
Service Availability: Our chaperone service is available exclusively for 5-Night Camps. The service operates for arrivals on Sunday and departures on Friday.
Accompanied Travel: On the first day of camp, a dedicated Camp Cornwall Group Leader will meet your child, assist with their luggage, and ensure they are settled in for the journey. The same care is provided for the return journey on Friday. Your child will be in safe hands as they travel to and from camp with one of our experienced leaders.
Chaperone Service Locations and Costs:
Before the camp, the Group Leader will arrange a video call with you to introduce themselves and answer any questions you may have. During the journey, they will keep you updated on the estimated time of arrival, so you’ll always know when to expect your child.
Please remember to book the chaperone service when reserving your child's place at the camp.
For one-way journeys, we can recommend nearby overnight accommodation if you'd like to spend some extra time in Cornwall before or after the camp.
Please note that the meeting points, times, and availability of this service are subject to change based on bookings. Your child’s safety is our top priority. All Group Leaders are experienced staff members who hold enhanced DBS checks, first aid certifications, and safeguarding training. Rest assured, they will receive the best care on their journey to camp.
At Camp Cornwall, we focus on enjoying the great outdoors. We encourage campers to leave their mobile phones and tablets in secure lockers during the day to fully engage in activities. Phones are allowed during evening "chill-out" time, where your child can call home in a designated private space. Outside of this time, phones should be stored in lockers. If you need to reach your child during the day, our Duty Manager is available 24/7 for emergencies. Children on day camps must leave their phones in lockers for the entire day.
For overnight camps, we recommend packing the following:
