Hidden pools at Blue Hole and a slow bamboo drift on the White River come together in one north coast day. It is the classic Ocho Rios pairing for families, couples and anyone who wants splashy fun before a peaceful float.
The morning opens among limestone pools and jungle trails where the water runs an impossible shade of blue. You'll swim, wade behind small waterfalls, explore caves, and try the rope swing or cliff jumps if you are feeling bold. Our guides know the safest lines into the water and can tailor the pace for mixed groups. Clay banks along the river offer a natural spa moment if you want a quirky photo stop.
After a short transfer, you'll meet your raft captain at the Calypso Rafting base on the White River. Life vests are available, changing rooms are on site, and each 30-foot bamboo raft carries two guests plus the captain. The journey lasts around 80 minutes through seven gentle rapids and glassy pools. Tropical forest lines the banks, and the pace is unhurried enough for conversation, photos, and simply watching the light on the water.
Blue Hole sits in the forested hills above Ocho Rios, where spring-fed pools cut through limestone and the air feels cooler than on the coast. The White River winds through the same lush countryside a few minutes away, offering calm water and soft rapids ideal for bamboo rafts beneath overhanging trees.
Between activities you'll travel through cooler hill country away from the busiest resort strips. Return transport takes you back to your hotel or ship along the scenic north coast when both legs are done, with time to dry off and replay the day's best moments.
Basic swimming confidence helps at Blue Hole but is not essential for the gentle rafting section with a life vest. You should be comfortable walking on uneven, wet rocks with appropriate footwear.
Water shoes with good grip make a real difference on slippery limestone. Bring swimwear under your clothes so you can move easily between the waterfall pools and the river.
Both experiences are bundled into one seamless day with transfers handled between stops. You won't waste time coordinating separate drivers or wondering which order to do things in; we run Blue Hole first, then the river, for the perfect mix of energy and relaxation.
Our local guides know every safe entry point at the falls and pair you with experienced raft captains on the White River. Families, couples, and solo travellers all get the same attentive service from pickup to drop-off.

Light rain may not stop the tour, but heavy rainfall can raise river levels and affect safety. We may delay, shorten, or reschedule activities if conditions are unsafe.
Pack a light rain jacket and dry bag for electronics. Your guide on the day will explain any changes.
