Spend a full day on the water exploring the Karaburun Peninsula by shared boat, from the vaulted chambers of Haxhi Ali Cave to the luminous Blue Cave and the remote sands of Grama Bay. Swimming, snorkelling and short walks ashore break up the journey so you see both wild coastline and calm coves.
Your day starts at the Cameria waterfront in Vlorë, where the crew fits life jackets and talks through the plan before you head out along Karaburun. The shared boat works its way west toward Haxhi Ali Cave, then continues to turquoise stops at Dafina Bay, Bristan and the Secret Canyon area, the Blue Gem Cave at Lloviz Bay, and finally Grama Bay with its cliff-backed sand. The skipper may change the order from one departure to the next so cave entries and swimming stay comfortable when the wind shifts on the open coast.
Between each run you have real time to swim or snorkel, dry off on deck, and take photos where limestone drops straight into deep blue water. At Grama you can stay in the water or take an optional short walk above the beach for a wider view before the return leg toward Vlorë. This is a long day on the boat, so bring snacks and plenty of drinking water; meals are not served on board, but the rhythm of moving, stopping, and getting back in the water keeps the trip feeling like an adventure rather than a long sit-down cruise.
Boarding is on Rruga Cameria in Vlorë, where fishing craft and tour boats share the same working waterfront. Within minutes you are in the channel between the city and Sazan, with Karaburun rising ahead as a long wall of limestone that few roads reach.
This route covers the outer peninsula faces that day-trippers rarely see from land. Grama Bay and the Blue Gem Cave sit on the wilder western shore, so even though you left town that morning the views from the boat feel remote and wide open.
Guests aged nine and over are welcome on this full-day shared departure. You should be happy to be on a boat for most of the day, with sun on open decks and occasional spray when the sea picks up.
Younger children and anyone who tires easily may prefer a shorter speedboat option from the same harbour. Non-swimmers can stay on board at stops; tell the crew about mobility needs when you board so they can help with seating and boarding.
Our captains run this long loop regularly and know which coves stay calm when the wind picks up on the outer coast. That local judgement keeps cave visits and Grama Bay landings realistic rather than rushed.
Equipment checks happen before every departure, and group sizes stay within the published limit so you can move on deck and enter the water without queuing at the sides.
Meet on Rruga Cameria in Vlorë (postcode 9401) at the time on your booking confirmation. Arrive a little early for boarding and the safety brief.
Public transport serves the waterfront; taxis are easy from hotels around Vlorë and the riviera. Summer parking can be busy, so allow extra time on peak days.
Plan for roughly eight hours from boarding to return, including transit and stops at Haxhi Ali, Dafina, the canyon area, the Blue Gem Cave and Grama Bay.
Exact minutes at each bay depend on sea state and how long swimmers stay in the water. Your skipper briefs the planned order at the harbour and may reorder stops for safety.
This departure is for guests aged nine and above on the day of travel. Anyone under eighteen must stay with a responsible adult on board and in the water.
If you are travelling with younger children, ask about shorter coastal trips that use the same meeting point but spend less time on open water.
No licence or prior boat time is required. The crew helps with boarding, stowing bags and fitting life jackets before the first cave approach.
Snorkelling is optional when the skipper marks a safe area. Stay within your comfort zone and ask before swimming far from the hull.
Bring swimwear, a towel, high-factor sunscreen, a hat and plenty of drinking water for a full day. Pack snacks because meals are not served on board.
A dry bag keeps phones dry during cave runs. Shoes with grip make boarding easier than smooth flip-flops alone.
Transfers from hotels are not included. Make your own way to Rruga Cameria in Vlorë for the time on your confirmation.
Taxis and local buses serve the waterfront; allow extra minutes in July and August when parking near the port fills quickly.
Cave entries and long open-water legs need reasonably calm seas. If conditions are unsafe, the operator may delay, shorten the loop or cancel with a rebook or refund under the stated policy.
Light cloud or breeze often still allows a rewarding day; the captain makes the final harbour decision with safety first.
Shared departures take up to twenty guests plus crew on the published vessel. Numbers are capped so everyone has deck space during the long run to Grama Bay.
If you want the boat for your own party only, choose the private charter listing rather than this shared Grama Bay day.
Much of the experience can be enjoyed from the deck while others swim. Life jackets are available whenever you are near the waterline.
If you do swim, stay close to the boat and follow hand signals from the crew, especially near cave mouths.
Yes. Life jackets, emergency kit and a medical pack are carried on every trip. The crew shows where jackets are stored and when to wear them.
Children and non-swimmers should wear a jacket during transfers and whenever the skipper advises.
Cancel free up to twenty-four hours before the scheduled start for a full refund. Later changes depend on availability and may count as a new booking.
No-shows and late arrival without notice are non-refundable. If we cancel for weather or operations, you receive a rebook or full refund.

About the centre
Vlorë
We run guided boat and speedboat trips along the Albanian Riviera from Vlorë, visiting sea caves, hidden bays and islands such as Sazan and the Karaburun Peninsula. Our skippers know these waters well and keep groups comfortable whether you join a shared departure or book a private charter for your own pace.
Safety kit, life jackets and onboard support are part of every trip. We welcome families and mixed groups within the age and capacity limits for each route, and we monitor weather and sea conditions so you can focus on swimming, sightseeing and time on the water.
