Getting started with wing foiling is all about building the right foundations in a controlled and supportive way. This beginner course is designed to introduce you to the sport step by step, starting on the beach before moving into the water. With structured coaching and small groups, you’ll develop confidence while learning at a steady pace.
Your session begins on the beach with a clear introduction to the wing and board setup. You’ll learn how to safely handle the wing, understand how it reacts to the wind, and practise basic control techniques on land. This stage focuses on coordination and safety, helping you feel comfortable before entering the water.
Once you’re confident with the basics, you’ll move into shallow water to start applying what you’ve learned. With close instructor guidance, you’ll practise balancing on the board and using the wing to generate controlled movement. Each exercise is introduced gradually so you can focus on one skill at a time.
As the session continues, you’ll begin linking balance and wing control together. The aim is to get you moving in a controlled way across the water while building awareness of wind and direction. By the end of the lesson, you’ll have a solid understanding of the fundamentals and a clear idea of how to progress further.
Lessons take place in the Corralejo area in northern Fuerteventura, a region known for steady wind conditions and open coastal spaces. These natural conditions create an ideal environment for learning wing foiling safely and effectively.
With several suitable water and beach areas nearby, locations are chosen based on daily wind and sea conditions. This ensures each session is delivered in the most appropriate spot, helping beginners learn in a controlled and comfortable environment.
A strong background in watersports coaching shapes the way these sessions are delivered, with a focus on clear instruction and steady progression. The team brings hands-on experience across multiple board sports, allowing complex skills to be broken down into simple, manageable steps.
Equally important is the attention given to each participant during every session. With small group sizes and carefully selected locations, coaching remains personal and focused. High-quality equipment and supportive instruction create an environment where beginners can build confidence quickly and safely.
No experience is required, as this course is designed specifically for complete beginners. You’ll start with the basics on the beach before moving into the water in a controlled way.
Everything is introduced step by step, so you’ll have time to build confidence before progressing to more challenging parts of the session.
Wing foiling can feel unusual at first, especially when learning to manage both the wing and board. However, the structured approach makes it easier to understand and progress gradually.
Most beginners find that once they get used to the wing on land, the transition into the water becomes much smoother.
You’ll learn how to handle the wing safely, understand wind direction, and begin basic board control in the water. The focus is on building a strong foundation rather than rushing progression.
By the end of the session, you’ll have a clear understanding of the core skills needed to continue learning.
No, the session starts on land so you can get comfortable with the wing first. This helps build coordination and confidence before introducing water-based exercises.
Once you’re ready, you’ll move into shallow water under close instructor supervision.
It does require some effort, especially when controlling the wing and balancing on the board. However, the session is paced to match beginner ability levels.
Breaks and instruction are built in to ensure you’re not overexerting yourself.
You should bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, and water. All equipment needed for the session is provided, including the wing, board, and wetsuit.
It’s also helpful to bring a change of clothes for after the lesson.
