One hour or 90-minute axe throwing sessions offer a fun, safe, and social experience for small to large groups. Participants receive a safety briefing, coaching throughout, and can try multiple axes across projected games. October features a Halloween theme with exclusive targets, photo props, and competitions to make sessions extra memorable and December will feature a Christmas theme.
60-Minute Lane Session (Max 4): Begins with a 10-minute safety briefing and instruction. Participants then have one hour of throwing on their own lane, trying all five axes and nine projected games. Coaching is available throughout to improve technique and accuracy.
60-Minute Whole Venue Session (Max 12): Full venue use for one hour, with all three lanes active. Participants rotate across lanes and games, with coaching provided to ensure everyone enjoys a safe and structured experience. Optional party add-ons include personalised messages on target boards, playlists, props, and organised mini-tournaments.
90-Minute Whole Venue Session (Max 18): Extended session allows full rotation of participants across three lanes and nine games. Extra time is ideal for larger groups to compete, practise, and enjoy party add-ons. Safety briefing and coaching are included, with optional extras for personalised music, decorations, or tournament-style play.
Safety is essential in all sessions. Participants must follow instructions at all times, and anyone behaving irresponsibly may be asked to leave.
The venue is in Cheltenham, GL52 2ND, located on the first floor and accessed via a flight of stairs. Participants with mobility difficulties may find this challenging, and wheelchair users cannot currently access the space.
The environment is designed for safe, social axe throwing. Refreshments are available from a well-stocked fridge, and private sessions can use their own music playlist and decorations to enhance the experience.
Participants must be at least 10 years old. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult over 16.
Closed-toe shoes are recommended, and casual, comfortable clothing is ideal. No prior experience is needed, and all skill levels are welcome.
The venue provides a safe, structured axe throwing experience suitable for individuals, small groups, or large celebrations. Coaches are on hand throughout every session to offer instruction, ensure safety, and support participants of all abilities.
Optional party add-ons let groups personalise their session with music playlists, personalised messages, photo props, cupcakes, glass hire, or BYO refreshments. Themed events such as August’s medieval fantasy month make the experience even more engaging and memorable for all participants.
The minimum age for axe throwing is 10 years. We have found that young people are often very capable at picking up the basics of throwing with some initial instruction, which makes it a fun activity for children and teens alike.
Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the session. This ensures both safety and support, helping younger participants feel confident while learning a new skill.
We do not operate a full bar on site. However, we do provide a well-stocked fridge with a selection of soft drinks and alcohol-free beers, so participants can enjoy refreshments before or after their session.
For those booking exclusive sessions, it may be possible to bring in your own alcohol with a small charge. We recommend this is kept to moderate drinking, ideally towards the end of the session, to maintain safety while participating.
Currently, our venue is located on the first floor, which requires climbing a flight of stairs. This unfortunately makes it challenging for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility to access the throwing area.
We are aware of this limitation and hope to improve accessibility in the future. In the meantime, we recommend considering alternative arrangements or checking with us directly for any possible support options.
Axe throwing is a skill that varies from person to person. Some participants pick it up quickly, while others take a little longer to find their rhythm and accuracy. Most people manage to throw confidently within an hour-long session, which is enough to have a very enjoyable experience.
Even if someone does not become a world-class thrower immediately, the session is designed to be fun and engaging. By the end, participants will have learned the basics and be able to hit targets consistently enough to enjoy the activity safely.
Throwing axes carries an inherent risk, but it is recognised as a worldwide sport with very few accidents. At our venue, we have implemented strict safety measures, including clear rules and supervised throwing lanes, to reduce the chance of harm.
It is essential that all participants follow instructions carefully. So far, we have had no injuries and expect to maintain this record, ensuring a secure environment for everyone taking part.
We advise against consuming alcohol in excess before or during axe throwing. Alcohol can impair coordination and judgement, making it unsafe to throw an axe. Participants deemed unsafe to throw may be asked to leave the session.
For private bookings, bringing in your own alcohol is possible with a small charge. In these cases, moderate drinking towards the end of the session is acceptable, but safety always remains the top priority.
Closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended to protect your feet in case an axe is dropped. High heels or unstable footwear are not suitable, as they can increase the risk of accidents during throwing.
Aside from footwear, there are no special clothing requirements. Some participants enjoy wearing lumberjack-style shirts for fun, but these are entirely optional. Comfortable, casual clothing is ideal for getting the most out of your session.
It is important to arrive promptly at the time indicated on your booking confirmation. Early arrivals cannot enter the venue if a previous session is still in progress, as we do not have a separate reception area.
Arriving on time ensures your session can start smoothly and gives the instructor time to brief your group properly. Late arrivals may disrupt the schedule, so planning your journey in advance is recommended.
