Kick off with quad bikes on Ubud countryside tracks, then after lunch and a shower switch to team paddling on Ayung River rapids for a combo day built for active families who like both dust and splash. Separate ATV and river crews handle their own safety talks, while one driver links the bases so you are not navigating Ubud traffic between modules.
Morning ATV convoys cross rice field margins and village lanes with guides leading the line, signalling when to slow for pedestrians or loose gravel. Automatic quads get a practice lap and helmet fit at the base before longer loops through jungle and farm scenery. After riding you rinse off, eat lunch and change before the van moves to the Ayung put in.
Rafting begins with a riverside briefing on paddles, braces and commands, then Class II and III rapids through gorges where teamwork matters more than strength. River guides steer the raft while your group splashes through drops and calm pools, with life jackets checked again at the water’s edge. Drivers stow muddy shoes and wet gear separately so the afternoon feels fresh even though morning was dusty.
ATV bases sit on Ubud’s rural fringe while the Ayung launch lies in forested valley country north of town, both within Gianyar regency and roughly within an hour of each other depending on traffic. Pickup on included rates spans major south and central stay hubs with lobby timing tied to how far you are from Ubud.
Traffic around Ubud market areas can slow transfers midday, which is why coordinators buffer lunch windows between mud and water modules. River levels change after rain, and crews will explain if certain rapids feel punchier than usual.
Rafting carries a minimum age of seven with the same water confidence you would expect on any Ayung trip, while ATV drivers must meet base age and control requirements. Bring two outfits or plan to change because you will get dusty before you get soaked.
Closed shoes work for both segments, and a dry bag inside your day pack protects phones during river spray. Mention if anyone needs a slower ATV convoy or cannot swim so crews can place them with stronger paddlers.
Coordinators have paired these Ubud modules since 2016, sequencing lunch and transfers so ATV and rafting crews are ready when your van arrives instead of leaving you waiting in car parks. River guides receive a handoff about group size before paddles touch water, which helps raft balance on the first rapid.
Dedicated specialists for wheels and river mean each briefing goes deep on its own risks rather than one guide rushing through both topics. That structure keeps active families safer and lets teenagers enjoy the pace without feeling dragged between unlike activities.
Share your hotel name, address and WhatsApp number after booking. Drivers usually collect from south and central Bali stay areas when transport is part of your rate.
For north-coast or sunrise departures, expect a very early lobby time and keep your phone reachable from the evening before.
This day suits curious travellers who want a hosted route around Ubud with drivers and activity crews handling logistics between stops.
Families and first timers fit well when everyone listens to briefings at rafting bases, jeep yards, boat jetties or trailheads before equipment is issued.
Wear light breathable clothes, closed shoes with grip and swimwear underneath when water modules are on the schedule.
Pack sunscreen, a hat, a towel and a change of shirt in your day bag so you stay comfortable after muddy tracks or river splashes.
Expect a mix of walking, riding, paddling or boat time depending on the route, with shaded breaks and photo stops built into the day.
Tell your guide at the first stop if you want a slower pace on stairs or trails so the group can plan rest points without rushing.
Many departures include a simple Indonesian lunch or a warung stop with rice, noodles and fresh fruit when shown in the included list.
Mention vegetarian or allergy needs when you meet your driver so the lunch venue can prepare plates without last minute surprises.
Heavy rain, swell or high wind can shorten water segments or swap viewpoints for sheltered stops while keeping the same overall theme.
Guides make the safety call on the day and may reorder stops so you still see the highlight locations when skies clear.
Minimum age guidance on this listing applies to every guest, especially on boats, quad bikes, rafts or cliff paths.
Children should stay beside a paying adult, wear the same safety gear as adults and follow hand signals from drivers and river guides.
Beginner friendly modules include practice time on flat ground or calm water before the main route begins.
Swim confidence helps whenever you snorkel, use Sea Walker helmets or stand near jump pools, even when guides stay close by.
Hotel lobby pickup applies on rates that include transport across south and central Bali, with timing based on your stay area.
Drivers usually send a message the evening before with a window for collection so you can be ready with bags packed.
Helmets, life jackets, paddles and activity specific kit are checked and fitted at each base before you start.
Crews adjust straps and explain signals in plain language so you know how to stop or ask for help during the module.
Convoy leaders use radios or agreed hand signals on roads, jungle paths and rivers so the group stays together.
They also brief you on temple etiquette, wildlife distance and water entry points so you know what to expect before each new segment.

Local drivers and guides arrange hotel pick-up, timing, and on-the-day logistics so you can focus on the experience rather than navigating busy roads.
