A hands-on buggy ride just outside Agadir offers a great way to experience Morocco’s open landscapes from behind the wheel. Over two hours, you’ll drive across varied terrain, pass through quiet rural areas, and enjoy a well-paced route led by a local guide.
Hotel pick-up marks the start of the experience, followed by a short drive out of the city towards a more open, rural setting. On arrival at the buggy base, a clear safety briefing explains how the vehicle works, what to expect on the route, and how to ride comfortably across changing ground. Helmets are provided, and there’s time to get familiar with the controls before setting off.
Once moving, the route leads through a mix of sandy stretches, compact dirt tracks, and rocky sections that keep the drive varied without becoming technical. Driving at a steady pace, you’ll pass small villages and open areas where the scenery shifts from wide plains to more enclosed trails. Regular pauses allow time to regroup, take photos, and enjoy the surroundings without rushing.
Midway through the ride, a stop for Moroccan mint tea offers a welcome break. After resting and cooling down, the return leg follows a different path, giving a fresh feel to the second half of the journey before heading back to the starting point and returning to your accommodation.
The buggy experience takes place on the outskirts of Agadir, where the city gradually gives way to semi-desert terrain. This area combines sandy ground, rocky trails, and quiet rural routes, making it well suited to off-road driving.
Being close to Agadir keeps travel time short, while still offering a strong sense of space and distance from the busier coastal areas. The surrounding landscape provides a glimpse of everyday life beyond the city, with traditional villages and open land shaping the route.
No previous buggy driving experience is needed, as full instructions are provided before the ride begins. You should feel comfortable steering a vehicle and following guidance from the escorting guide throughout the session.
Comfortable outdoor clothing is recommended, along with closed shoes suitable for dusty conditions. Sunscreen is advised due to the exposed terrain, especially during warmer parts of the day.
Strong organisation sits at the heart of every experience, from punctual pick-ups to clearly planned routes. By managing transport, equipment, and guidance in one place, the day runs smoothly without unnecessary waiting or confusion.
Local knowledge shapes each ride, with routes selected for variety, safety, and scenery. The focus remains on creating an enjoyable, accessible experience that fits easily into a stay in Agadir.
No previous experience is required to join the ride. Before setting off, you’ll receive a full explanation of how the buggy operates, including steering, braking, and acceleration.
Guidance continues throughout the session, with the escort adjusting the pace to suit the group. Even first-time drivers usually feel comfortable within the first few minutes.
Both single and two-person buggies are available. If riding as a pair, one person can drive while the other rides as a passenger.
Switching drivers during the experience may be possible depending on conditions and group flow, so both riders can take part in the driving.
Routes include sandy sections, rocky paths, and compact dirt tracks typical of the Agadir outskirts. This mix keeps the ride interesting without being overly demanding.
Each section is chosen to suit a wide range of ability levels, allowing you to focus on enjoying the drive rather than tackling difficult obstacles.
The buggy ride itself lasts around two hours. When including pick-up, briefing, and return transport, the full experience takes a bit longer.
Timings vary slightly depending on accommodation location, but everything is planned to fit comfortably into half a day.
Yes, pick-up and drop-off from accommodation in Agadir are included. This removes the need to arrange your own transport to the buggy base.
If staying outside the main pick-up area, alternative meeting arrangements may be needed in advance.
Clothes suitable for outdoor activities work best, as the terrain can be dusty. Closed shoes are essential for safety and control of the pedals.
Sunscreen and sunglasses are strongly recommended due to the open environment and sun exposure.
Beginners are well catered for, with clear instructions and a route designed to build confidence gradually. Starting sections are gentle, allowing time to get used to the buggy.
As confidence grows, the route becomes more varied while still remaining manageable.
