This week-long flotilla explores the coastline and islands of north-east Sardinia, an area known for calm cruising waters, sheltered bays, and charming harbour towns. Starting from Marina di Portisco, the route takes in some of the region’s best anchorages and sailing spots, with comfortable distances each day so there’s always time to swim, relax, and enjoy the surroundings.
Days typically begin with a gentle sail along the coast before dropping anchor in a quiet bay for lunch and a swim. Later in the afternoon the flotilla continues towards the evening stop, which might be a lively harbour town or a peaceful anchorage for a relaxed evening onboard. With a professional skipper guiding the week, guests can get involved with sailing if they like or simply enjoy the journey.
Our trips are built around relaxed sailing, good company, and making the most of time on the water. The aim is to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable onboard, whether they want to learn more about sailing or simply enjoy a sociable week exploring the Mediterranean.
The atmosphere is supportive and down-to-earth, with experienced skippers who focus on making the week enjoyable for everyone. Guests often end the trip with new sailing skills, new friendships, and plenty of great memories from the places visited along the Sardinian coast.
Guests arrive into Olbia Airport and make their way to Marina di Portisco where the flotilla begins. After arriving at the marina, the group checks onto the boats and settles into cabins before preparing for the week ahead.
The first afternoon is usually spent provisioning the yacht with groceries for the first few days onboard. In the evening the group heads ashore for a relaxed dinner before returning to the boat for the night and preparing for the first sailing day.
The first day on the water begins with a sail of approximately 15 nautical miles along the Sardinian coastline. This gentle introduction to the week allows the group to get used to life onboard while enjoying the open water.
The destination is Cala Portese, a sheltered bay known for its sandy beach and welcoming beachside restaurants. The flotilla may remain anchored here overnight depending on conditions, allowing time to swim and relax in the calm waters.
The flotilla sails towards Cala Garibaldi, a white sand cove that makes an ideal lunchtime anchorage. Lunch is typically enjoyed onboard while anchored with time for swimming in the clear water.
Later in the afternoon the group continues sailing towards the town of La Maddalena. The evening is spent ashore exploring the harbour town and enjoying local food before returning to the boat for the night.
The day begins with a sail towards Cala Sambucco, a quiet beach that is often best accessed by boat. Lunch is taken at anchor giving the group another chance to swim and relax away from the busier coastline.
In the afternoon the flotilla heads north to the historic town of Bonifacio. Built on high limestone cliffs, the harbour offers dramatic scenery and a lively atmosphere with plenty of places to enjoy dinner and drinks ashore.
Another morning sail leads to Cala Santa Maria where the group anchors for lunch. The bay provides clear waters and a peaceful setting for swimming before continuing later in the day.
That evening the flotilla usually heads towards Porto Liscia where the boats may remain anchored overnight. The evening is often spent enjoying time onboard, sharing food and drinks while watching the sunset.
Day six continues with relaxed coastal cruising around the islands and bays of northern Sardinia. Sailing distances remain comfortable so there is always time to enjoy swimming stops and quiet anchorages along the way.
The evening destination may vary depending on weather and group preference, with the possibility of another marina stop or a peaceful night anchored in a sheltered bay.
The final full day of sailing offers one last chance to explore Sardinia’s bays and islands. The flotilla gradually begins its return towards Marina di Portisco while stopping for lunch along the way.
In the evening the group often gathers for a final dinner together either onboard or ashore, marking the end of the week’s sailing adventure.
After breakfast onboard, guests disembark at Marina di Portisco. Some may continue exploring Sardinia while others travel back to Olbia Airport for their flights home.
Taxi transfers to the airport are commonly shared between guests depending on departure times.
