We had a great time paddleboarding and will definitely be back again!

Experience five days in the Swiss Alps with a mix of paddleboarding, hiking, and rafting, guided by Ana and two local experts. Designed for beginners and intermediates, this retreat balances activity and relaxation while exploring the lakes and rivers around Bönigen and Interlaken. Small groups ensure personalised guidance and a friendly, sociable atmosphere throughout the trip.
The adventure begins with a shared minibus transfer from Zurich Airport to Hotel Oberländerhof in Bönigen. Guests can enjoy a SUP tour on Lake Brienz or try a SUP yoga session depending on the water conditions, followed by free time to settle in.
On the second day, the group heads to Lake Thun for a guided SUP tour in the Neuhaus area, finishing with a salsa dance workshop by the lake. Day three features a rubber dinghy tour along the River Aare from Thun to Bern, returning to the hotel before a short city tour of Interlaken. Optional excursions to Wohlen Lake can be included for those wishing to explore further.
Day four combines a SUP session on Lake Brienz with a guided one-hour hike to the Giessbach Waterfalls, led by experienced local hiking guides. The final day allows for an optional morning SUP tour before checking out and transferring collectively back to Zurich Airport.
The retreat is based in Bönigen, a lakeside village on Lake Brienz, known for its clear turquoise waters and mountain scenery. The area offers excellent opportunities for paddleboarding, with nearby hiking trails leading to waterfalls and viewpoints.
Lake Thun, another highlight of the trip, provides a peaceful setting for SUP and yoga, with charming lakeside villages along its shores. The River Aare is well-known for its traditional dinghy rafting tours, offering a relaxed way to experience the Swiss countryside. With easy access to Interlaken, guests can also explore Swiss culture and local attractions.
The Hotel Oberländerhof in Bönigen offers comfortable rooms with lake views, providing a relaxing base for the retreat. This family-run hotel is known for its welcoming atmosphere and seasonal Swiss cuisine, served in the Bellavista restaurant.
Guests stay in twin or single rooms with breakfast included, plus two three-course dinners during the trip. The hotel is perfectly placed for lakeside walks, and its location makes it easy to reach all activity spots.
Participants should have a reasonable level of fitness and be comfortable in the water. No prior paddleboarding or rafting experience is required, as full instruction will be given.
Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
With Ana’s extensive coaching experience and the support of local Swiss guides, this retreat is a great balance of adventure, skill development, and relaxation. Each element has been carefully planned to ensure a welcoming and inclusive experience, whether you're trying SUP for the first time or looking to improve your technique.
The small group size allows for personalised coaching and a sociable atmosphere, while the itinerary offers a mix of structured activities and free time. From paddleboarding on glacial lakes to hiking through the Alps, this trip is designed to showcase the best of Switzerland while making unforgettable memories.

My friend and I had our first experience with SUP last week and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is great, Veronika was very calm, knowledgeable and helpful, it was overall a great experience. Next time will try practising in the pool! Thanks Ana and Veronika!
