This challenge will push you to your limits as you take on three of the highest peaks in England, Scotland, and Wales. Accompanied by an experienced walking guide, you’ll climb Scafell Pike, Snowdon, and Ben Nevis over the course of three days, covering up to 25 miles. Whether you’re looking for a personal challenge or a way to raise funds for a good cause, this event is a true test of endurance, grit, and determination.
This adventure kicks off with a day of travel, where you’ll be transported to your starting point in Fort William. The second day marks the start of the real challenge. We’ll begin with Ben Nevis, the tallest peak in Scotland, followed by a drive to Scafell Pike in England, and then onwards to Snowdon in Wales. Throughout the journey, you’ll be supported by a qualified guide who knows the terrain and will ensure your safety every step of the way.
The challenge spans around 23-25 miles of walking, covering over 10,000 feet of ascent. Your guide, either John or one of his experienced colleagues, will lead the group through the entire challenge, helping to set the pace and providing support where needed. A minibus will also be available to transport the group between the mountains.
On the final day, after successfully completing Snowdon, you’ll be dropped off at a pre-arranged location to return home with the incredible accomplishment of conquering three peaks.
Your challenge will span across three national treasures:
Transport between these mountains is provided, making this challenge a seamless, unforgettable experience.
Participants must have a decent level of fitness, capable of walking for extended periods. Experience in hill walking is recommended, though not essential, as full guidance will be provided.

With a passion for walking that started in childhood, your guide is committed to making this an enjoyable and fulfilling experience, whether you’re taking on the challenge for the first time or are a seasoned walker. Our team of experienced, qualified mountain guides will support you every step of the way, ensuring your safety and comfort.
Dressed in bright orange, you’ll never lose sight of your guide, and with their first-hand knowledge of the peaks, you can focus on achieving your goals. If you're looking to raise money for charity, we can assist you with setting up your fundraising platform, helping to make your efforts count.
The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the highest mountains in England, Scotland, and Wales—Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis, and Snowdon. Over the course of three days, participants will hike a total distance of up to 25 miles and ascend more than 10,000 feet.
It’s a physically demanding event, ideal for those looking to challenge themselves or raise money for charity. The challenge includes transport between the peaks and guidance from experienced mountain leaders.
This challenge is rated as “challenging,” requiring a good level of physical fitness. You should be able to walk for long periods, often on steep or uneven terrain. While previous mountain walking experience is recommended, it’s not mandatory—our guides are there to support you.
However, you should be comfortable with endurance-based activities and be prepared for physical exertion over three days.
A full kit list will be provided upon booking, but essential items include sturdy, comfortable walking boots, waterproof clothing, a backpack, plenty of layers for varying weather conditions, and a head torch.
It's important to come prepared for all types of weather, as conditions can change rapidly in the mountains. You’ll also need to bring your own personal hiking gear such as a water bottle, snacks, and blister plasters. If you’re unsure about any items, feel free to reach out for advice.
Breakfast will be provided on Saturday morning before we start the hiking portion of the challenge. Beyond that, participants are expected to bring their own food, snacks, and drinks for the duration of the challenge.
Hydration stops will be set up at key points during the trek, but it’s important to carry enough water and energy-rich snacks to sustain you through the challenge. If you have specific dietary requirements, you should plan to bring your own meals.
We can arrange accommodation for Friday night if needed. Please contact us using the details on your booking confirmation to discuss.
Absolutely. The terrain is rocky and slippery when wet. Walking boots with firm ankle support are a necessity for you to safely undertake either of these walking challenges.
Without the appropriate footwear, you may be refused participation.
Depending on how much you tend to drink while exercising, we recommend bringing 2-4 litres.
