Experience the Norfolk Broads from the water with your choice of canoes, kayaks, paddleboards or mega SUPs. Ideal for both beginners and confident paddlers, we provide all the equipment and guidance you need for a safe and relaxed session. With a strong emphasis on customer service and protecting the local environment, we make sure your time on the water is both enjoyable and low impact.
On arrival, you’ll be welcomed by our team who will run through a short safety briefing and provide some basic paddling tips. If it’s your first time on the water, we’ll make sure you’re confident with the equipment and understand where you can safely go.
You’re then free to explore the local waterways at your own pace. The Norfolk Broads are known for their peaceful rivers, reed beds, and wildlife, making it a great place to unwind or share a family outing. We encourage all guests to support our environmental clean-up efforts by picking up any litter you spot while paddling—bags are provided at check-in.
We’re based directly on the Norfolk Broads, offering instant water access without the need for transport or launch points. The area is well-known for its winding rivers, open water, and quiet channels—ideal for first-timers or those looking for a gentle paddle in beautiful surroundings.
After your session, you’re welcome to enjoy a drink or snack at our on-site facilities, which include shaded seating and toilets.
All participants must be able to swim and feel comfortable around water. Children under 18 must be supervised by an adult, and anyone aged under 6 must share a board or boat with an adult.
Please dress in clothing suitable for getting splashed, and bring sun cream, water, and a towel if needed.
This centre was the first dedicated paddleboard hire business in Norwich and has grown to become the largest provider of paddle sports on the Norfolk Broads. The team prides itself on providing a friendly, safe and flexible experience for paddlers of all levels.
With direct access to the Broads and a long-standing focus on sustainability, the centre combines convenience and care for the environment to create a session that’s as enjoyable as it is responsible.
No prior experience is necessary. Our team provides a safety demo and basic tuition to get you started.
Wear comfortable clothing suitable for water activities. Quick-drying fabrics are recommended.
Due to limited space and the extreme demand and overcrowding of the Gibraltar gardens pub car park from paddle boarders and the pubs own customer’s, we ask all of our customers kindly to now park on either Swanston road (free), Heigham street (free) or Nelson Street (free for up to two hours and free on Sundays), all of which are under a minutes walk from the pub.
On our single boards, children can share with a responsible adult.
All customers are issued lifejackets at the beginning of your hire and you are required to wear them for your safety whilst out on the water.
