Itinerary
The weekend begins at 08:30 each day with a meeting at Ardvonnie Car Park in Kingussie. After a brief introduction and safety briefing, you'll set out on the water for a full day of coaching. Our experienced guides will lead you through advanced canoeing techniques designed to handle force 3/4 winds.
Throughout the day, you’ll engage in practical exercises and challenges tailored to improving your skills in open water conditions. This includes practising navigation, enhancing paddling efficiency, and managing the dynamics of strong winds. There will be regular breaks for lunch and refreshments, with time allocated for individual questions and feedback.
We aim to return to Kingussie by 15:30 each day for a comprehensive debriefing session. This time allows you to reflect on the day's activities, discuss what you've learned, and address any queries. Make sure to come prepared with all necessary gear and a readiness to tackle new challenges in a supportive and instructive environment.
Location
The event takes place in Kingussie, a charming town nestled in the Cairngorms. The meeting point, Ardvonnie Car Park, is conveniently located, with several cafes in the area for an early morning coffee before we start. The scenic beauty of the Cairngorms provides a gorgeous backdrop for your paddling adventure.
Prerequisites
Participants should have intermediate canoeing experience and be comfortable in open water conditions. A basic understanding of canoeing techniques and safety protocols is necessary to fully benefit from the advanced coaching provided.
