Sail Sotogrande after dark on a two-and-a-half-hour outing timed around the full moon. Soft moonlight on the Mediterranean, Strait views when clarity allows, and a small group create a calm night experience without daytime crowds on the same stretch of coast.
After briefing you cast off into moonlit water with the skipper managing night navigation and safety. Soft wave sounds, harbour lights and open-water darkness frame the deck experience as eyes adjust to low light. Stay seated when asked and move carefully between deck and cockpit while under way.
On lucky nights dolphins may visit, but the focus remains the bright moon, quieter evening air and Strait horizon rather than a wildlife guarantee. Exact start times follow moonrise and operational windows shown on the booking calendar for each month, so you sail when the sky cooperates rather than on a random evening.
Return is to the same Sotogrande marina after about two and a half hours. Dress warmer than for a daytime sail; night wind chill arrives quickly once you leave the shelter of the harbour, even in summer.
Sotogrande harbour on Avenida de la Marina gives quick night access to open water near Strait approaches without a second harbour transfer. Town lights and Rock silhouette can appear depending on clarity, haze and your heading.
Logistics stay simple with the same marina start and finish. Guests staying across Sotogrande and San Roque usually reach the waterfront by car or taxi; allow extra time to walk safely to the berth after dark and find parking when evening spaces thin out.
No experience required. Guests should dress for night wind chill and move carefully in low light. Children need close supervision throughout.
Bring layers beyond daytime kit and pale-sole shoes or socks for cooler decks. ID may be requested for boarding formalities on some evenings.
Small groups of up to six keep nighttime sailing intimate. Slots align with full moon windows so the experience is timed for moonlight rather than a generic evening cruise.
Professional crew, life jackets and a low-light briefing are included so you can focus on moon on water and the quieter evening coast. The outing stays short enough for mixed ages while still feeling distinct from the daytime sunset and wildlife sails from the same marina.
Meet at Real Club Marítimo de Sotogrande, Avenida de la Marina, 11310 Sotogrande, Cádiz. Arrive fifteen minutes before the night departure for briefing.
Parking surrounds the marina. Allow extra time after dark for finding spaces and walking safely to the berth.
This experience runs on dates around the full moon when the calendar opens slots. Night temperatures feel cooler than daytime sails, so pack a real windproof layer even in summer.
Exact start times follow moonrise and operational windows shown on the booking calendar for each month.
Expect about two and a half hours under soft moonlight around Sotogrande with Strait views when clarity allows. The yacht stays comfortable for a small group of up to six guests.
Wildlife may appear, yet the main draw is calm night sailing under a bright moon rather than guaranteed dolphin stops.
Meet at Real Club Marítimo de Sotogrande on Avenida de la Marina, 11310. Arrive fifteen minutes early so night boarding stays organised and briefings finish before cast off.
Transport is not included. Use pale-sole shoes or bare feet once on deck to keep grip safe in low light.
Shared night departures take up to six guests. Confirm child ages when booking if travelling as a family so life jackets and seating match everyone aboard.
Private daytime charters are listed separately if you need the yacht solely for your party at other times.
No experience is required. The skipper handles night navigation and safety while you enjoy moonlight on the water and the quieter evening coast.
A briefing covers deck movement in low light before casting off so everyone knows where to sit and how to move.
Night departures are watched carefully. The skipper only sails when wind and sea state feel safe after dark.
If a full moon slot cannot run, you will be contacted with next steps before you travel to the marina.
Bring a windproof jacket, comfortable warm clothes, pale-sole shoes or socks for cooler decks, and a charged camera. ID may be requested for boarding formalities on some evenings.
Swimwear is optional and only makes sense if the crew offers an evening dip, which is uncommon on night sails.
Children may join when carefully supervised in night conditions. Confirm ages when booking so equipment and seating match the party.
Night motion and cooler air need extra planning for younger guests with layers and snacks.
Pets may be allowed if confirmed when booking. Night sails can be less suitable for anxious animals, so discuss ahead before you reserve.
Keep pets controlled and warm enough for evening breezes, and bring water for them onboard.
Check your booking for any complimentary drinks. Bring only what the crew approves so night deck safety stays clear and bags stay compact.
Avoid glass bottles and keep walkways free in low light so guests and crew can move without trips.
