Romania

Romania is centred around the Carpathian Mountains, which form a broad arc of forested ridges, alpine peaks and limestone cliffs across the country. These higher elevations are balanced by lowland plains, the Danube Delta wetlands and a stretch of Black Sea coastline. Mountain regions provide strong conditions for trekking, ridge traverses, mountaineering and winter sports, while the Danube and delta zones are suited to canoe travel and wildlife-focused expeditions. The southern plains offer road cycling and rural exploration, and the coast supports seasonal sailing and kitesurfing. Romania’s varied terrain and clear seasonal shifts allow for both alpine and lowland adventure across the year.
