Performance Coach Award is Paddle UK's advanced coaching qualification for experienced coaches who want formal recognition that their delivery meets a higher standard of sophistication. You already hold a discipline-specific Coach Award or equivalent. This pathway asks you to refine how you develop paddlers, not learn to stand on a board for the first time.
Twenty-one discipline pathways cover sea kayak, SUP, white water, surf kayak and more. Assessment has two parts: a pre-assessment mentor session and a practical coaching assessment focused on live sessions with your athletes. Teaching beginners is harder than paddling straight yourself. Performance coaching is harder still because subtle feedback is what separates good from excellent.
Registration with Paddle UK is required during your learning journey. Leave a comment when you book with your discipline, coaching hours and current Coach Award held.
Assessors have heard every generic pep talk twice before lunch. They want to see the one cue that actually changes how your athlete catches the bug for harder sessions, not a folder of session plans nobody reads.
Performance Coach assessment comprises a pre-assessment mentor session and a practical coaching assessment.
