What is British Skydiving?
British Skydiving regulates sport parachuting in the UK. Affiliated drop zones deliver training under British Skydiving rules, with highly qualified instructors, maintained equipment and standard progression routes from first tandem through to solo freefall.
Accelerated Freefall (AFF) is the fast-track route to solo skydiving. Students jump with instructor support from the first level, building body position, altitude awareness, emergency procedures and canopy control through a structured series of levels and consolidation jumps.

Choosing a course
AFF is physically and mentally demanding and progresses on demonstrated skill, not jump count alone. Weather holds are common; plan flexible dates and budget for extra levels if you need more jumps to reach the standard. A tandem day is a useful taster but is not a substitute for AFF ground school.
Drop zones differ in aircraft, altitude and accommodation nearby. Check medical restrictions, minimum age, membership fees and what repeat levels cost. Leave a comment when you book if you have prior military or overseas jumps that might affect your starting point.
