Is horse riding safe?

There is always some risk with a large animal, which is why you start in an enclosed school on a steady horse, in a hat, with an instructor.

How fit do I need to be?

A basic level of fitness helps, and riding quietly works muscles you forgot you had. You can start gently.

Long trousers to avoid rubbing and boots with a small heel. A riding hat is provided, and often a body protector.

What if I am nervous around horses?

Very common, and the instructors are used to it. Calm beginner horses and a patient introduction settle most nerves quickly.
