Riding looks serene and is more of a conversation than it appears. You are working with a big animal that has its own ideas, and learning to ask clearly and sit well is most of the craft. Beginners start on calm, patient horses who have seen it all before.
Lessons cover the basics: how to sit, steer, stop and rise to the trot, usually in an enclosed school before any hacking out. It builds balance and confidence quickly, and the bond with the horse is the bit that keeps people coming back.
The instructors on adventuro run lessons and guided hacks for all levels, on horses matched to your experience. Wear long trousers and boots with a small heel, and a hat is provided.
