Montenegro's coast is one of the Adriatic's great set pieces — the fjord-like Bay of Kotor winding between limestone walls beneath Mount Lovćen, medieval walled towns tumbling to the water, and a string of beaches running south to the kitesurf flats of Ulcinj. It packs sea, cliffs and mountains into a shoreline you can drive in a couple of hours.
The Bay of Kotor
Sea kayaking on the sheltered bay, the ladder-of-Kotor hike up the fortress switchbacks toward Lovćen, and boat trips to Our Lady of the Rocks, all based around Kotor.
Beaches and coastal cliffs
South, Budva and Bar bring beaches and coastal cycling, and Ulcinj's long sands and salt pans draw kitesurfers and birdwatchers. Open the Book here tab to see what is running.
