This 12-day route crosses Sri Lanka from ancient cultural sites and dry-zone national parks to cool tea highlands and palm-lined southern beaches. Days on the bike are balanced by rest time in Kandy and Ella, with a pilot rider leading throughout and a support van carrying luggage so you can ride light.
You start in Colombo before riding north to Sigiriya and Wilpattu, then east to Trincomalee and inland to Kandy. The highland stretch through Nuwara Eliya to Ella brings tea plantations and mountain curves, before you descend to Mirissa, follow the coast via Galle Fort, and return to Colombo for farewell dinner and departure.
Groups stay intentionally small so every rider gets personal attention from the pilot rider and support crew. You ride unencumbered while luggage moves by van between hotels, and all meals are arranged so you can focus on the road and the landscape rather than daily planning.
Routes are chosen from years of riding in Sri Lanka, combining iconic heritage stops with quieter backroads and coastal stretches that most travellers never reach. Motorcycle hire, fuel, accommodation, meals, safari, and listed on-tour activities are covered in one upfront price, with live availability through the operator reservation system.
Whether you are new to touring abroad or have ridden in Asia before, the format removes the usual friction of foreign roads, bike hire, and hotel bookings. You arrive at Colombo airport and step straight into a ready-made adventure with a team that knows the roads, the hotels, and the best places to stop along the way.
Minimum age 18. You must hold a valid motorcycle licence and an International Driving Permit. Maximum rider weight 120 kg applies for bike allocation.
Travel insurance covering motorcycle touring is required before departure. No prior guided tour experience is necessary, but you should be comfortable riding for four to six hours on paved and winding roads.
Arrive at Colombo airport (CMB) for included pick-up and hotel check-in. Meet the group for a welcome dinner and tour briefing.
If time permits, a short test ride helps you get comfortable with the Royal Enfield before riding starts on Day 2.
Leave the capital on rural backroads toward the Cultural Triangle. After lunch, climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress for sweeping views and ancient history.
A strong opening ride that sets the tone for the days ahead.
Final riding day up the southwest coast on smooth open roads. Return bikes in Colombo and gather for farewell dinner with the group.
Celebrate twelve days of island riding before departure.
Breakfast and included transfer to Colombo airport based on your flight time. The support team handles luggage so you can focus on departure.
End of tour. Most riders fly home the same day or add extra nights in Colombo.
Visit the Dambulla Cave Temples, then ride to sacred Anuradhapura before reaching your jungle lodge near Wilpattu National Park.
A day rich in Buddhist heritage and dry-zone landscape.
Early guided safari in Wilpattu National Park, home to leopards, sloth bears, and elephants. After breakfast, ride northeast to Trincomalee's east-coast beaches.
Wildlife morning followed by relaxed coastal arrival.
Ride inland through forested backroads and quiet farmland toward Sri Lanka's cultural capital. Settle by Kandy Lake as the evening cools.
A long but scenic day ending in the hill country.
Visit the Temple of the Tooth in the morning, then join an optional loop ride through the Knuckles Mountain Range on winding remote roads.
Recharge in cool highland air before the Ella stretch.
Cross the highlands past waterfalls, tea plantations, and misty valleys through colonial Nuwara Eliya. Continue south on winding mountain roads to Ella.
One of the tour's most spectacular riding days.
Relax in Ella or join an optional loop to Diyaluma Falls and Lipton's Seat on narrow, curvy highland roads. Wander the village or catch sunset at Nine Arches Bridge.
Set your own pace in the cool hill country.
Descend from the hills toward the tropical south, passing rice fields and jungle roads. Arrive in Mirissa for sunset, seafood, and well-earned beach time.
The landscape shifts dramatically from highland cool to coastal warmth.
Follow the palm-lined coast through fishing villages to UNESCO-listed Galle Fort. Continue to Hikkaduwa for snorkelling, relaxation, or a final night by the sea.
Mellow coastal riding with a standout heritage stop.
Fly into Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB). Included airport pick-up on Day 1; share flight details when booking.
International flights to Sri Lanka are not included. Departure day includes transfer back to Colombo airport based on your flight time.
Handpicked hotels and lodges are included every night of the 12-day tour, chosen for comfort after long days on varied Sri Lankan roads. Colombo starts with a well-rated city hotel for arrival, briefing, and farewell dinner. Sigiriya and Wilpattu favour properties near cultural sites and the national park, while Trincomalee brings east-coast beach-town character.
Kandy uses hill-country hotels within reach of the lake and Temple of the Tooth, and Ella offers relaxed highland stays among tea terraces. Mirissa, Hikkaduwa, and the Galle coast add seaside properties before the return to Colombo. Room type (single or twin occupancy) is selected when you book through the operator reservation system.
Luggage is transferred between stops by the support van while you ride with just a day pack on the bike. All meals are included throughout the tour, from welcome dinner in Colombo to breakfast on departure day, so evenings are free to explore local food and culture at your own pace.

Guided motorcycle tours grew out of years of living, travelling, and riding across Asia, with routes and itineraries shaped by real road experience rather than a brochure. Groups stay small and personal, and the team handles accommodation, meals, bikes, and on-tour logistics so riders can focus on the journey.
Trips run across Northern Thailand, Southern Thailand, and Sri Lanka, from mountain passes and hill tribe villages to coastal highways, jungle roads, and tea country. Each destination offers a different landscape and culture, all best explored from the saddle.
