Enjoy a private electric mountain biking experience through the mountains surrounding Donostia - San Sebastián with routes adapted to your group’s pace and riding style. Coastal viewpoints, forest trails, and local food stops combine to create a relaxed but active way to explore the Basque countryside.
Meeting directly at your accommodation, the guide will prepare the electric mountain bikes and discuss the best route based on your group’s experience level and what kind of ride you are looking for. Rather than following one fixed itinerary, the experience is adapted throughout the day to create a route that feels enjoyable and manageable for everyone involved.
Once outside the city, the ride heads into the scenic mountains and countryside surrounding San Sebastián using a mixture of gravel tracks, forest trails, and quieter roads. Electric mountain bikes make it possible to comfortably cover more ground while still enjoying the natural surroundings and coastal scenery. Depending on the chosen route, riders may pass through elevated viewpoints, woodland paths, countryside trails, and sections overlooking the Bay of Biscay.
Partway through the experience, the group stops at a traditional local mountain bar for a drink and a pintxo before continuing the ride back towards the accommodation. The combination of flexible routes, electric bikes, and local insight makes the experience ideal for groups wanting an active outdoor activity without the demands of highly technical mountain biking.
Mountains surrounding Donostia - San Sebastián provide excellent terrain for electric mountain biking thanks to the mixture of scenic gravel routes, quieter countryside roads, and accessible forest trails. Riders can leave the city behind within only a few kilometres and quickly reach natural areas overlooking the coastline and surrounding hills.
The Basque countryside offers a combination of green mountain landscapes, coastal viewpoints, and small rural areas connected by paths and secondary roads well suited to recreational riding. Electric bikes help make these routes more accessible while still allowing riders to experience the varied terrain and scenery throughout the region.
Participants should feel comfortable riding a bicycle for several hours across mixed terrain including gravel paths and moderate climbs. No advanced mountain biking experience is required, although a basic level of cycling confidence is recommended.
Comfortable sporting clothes and suitable footwear should be worn during the activity. Bringing a water bottle is also recommended, especially during warmer weather conditions.
Flexible route planning allows each experience to be adapted according to the riding ability and interests of the group rather than following one standard tour route. Guides use their local knowledge to select suitable trails, scenic viewpoints, and quieter riding areas depending on the conditions and preferences of the riders.
Private groups also create a more relaxed atmosphere throughout the experience, while electric mountain bikes help make the surrounding mountain terrain accessible to a wider range of riders. Starting and finishing directly at your accommodation adds additional convenience and helps create a smoother overall experience.
Group sizes are kept between 2 and 8 people to ensure a more personal experience and allow guides to adapt the ride to the group’s pace and ability level. Smaller groups also make it easier to move through both city routes and countryside trails comfortably.
If your group has more than 8 people, please use the “Can’t find a date or have a large group?” button above the booking form to send an enquiry. Larger private groups can often be arranged depending on guide availability and the type of ride you are looking for.
Yes, the experience is organised privately for your group only, allowing the guide to adapt the pace, terrain, and overall route throughout the ride.
