Around midday, your yacht will anchor off the Isle of Wight, where a two-course freshly prepared lunch will be served on deck. With delicious food and the option of a swim in the clear waters, this will be a highlight of the day. After lunch, you’ll sail back towards Lymington, with more opportunities to take the helm if you wish or simply unwind with tea or coffee in hand. You’ll arrive back at the marina in the late afternoon, refreshed from a full day at sea.
Your sailing adventure departs from Lymington, a bustling town on the edge of the New Forest in Hampshire. Lymington marina is a central hub for leisure sailing and provides easy access to the Solent, one of the UK’s premier sailing waters. The Solent is renowned for its calm, sheltered conditions, ideal for both beginners and experienced sailors.
Along the route, you can enjoy uninterrupted views of the Isle of Wight coastline, historic forts, and charming harbours. Wildlife, including seabirds and seals, is often visible, enhancing the experience of a day at sea. The surrounding area also offers scenic towns and villages, making the journey to and from the marina an enjoyable part of the day.
No previous sailing experience or qualifications are required to join this trip. The day is suitable for all ages and abilities, with a skilled skipper and crew managing the yacht. Guests can actively participate in sailing, learning basic skills such as handling sails and steering, or choose to relax on deck and enjoy the scenery.
It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear for being on deck, and to bring sun protection and a light jacket for changeable weather. Guests should be prepared for a full day on the water, including occasional exposure to wind and spray, and be ready to follow any safety instructions provided by the crew.

Lymington is a charming Georgian town nestled in the New Forest, with a sheltered marina located right on the Solent. Once you depart, you'll be sailing the scenic western Solent, with stunning views of the New Forest and the Isle of Wight.
It’s also an excellent starting point for those wishing to explore the New Forest National Park before or after their trip.
No. Our yachts welcome guests of all ages, making them ideal for family charters, including children and older passengers.
We don’t have any set age restrictions but do require an adult to accompany anyone under 18. The crew is not responsible for childminding or babysitting during the charter.
Tipping is completely optional. Should you choose to tip the skipper and crew for their professional and attentive service (which we are confident you will appreciate), the customary rate is 5-15% of the total charter cost.
For day trips, we typically receive £10 per person, and on sailing holidays, around 10%. Tips should be given to the skipper, who will distribute them equally among the crew.
We monitor the local weather forecasts. For our day trips, we will contact you 48 hours in advance – which is when we get the most accurate forecast – if it is looking like it may be unsafe to sail.
However, sometimes the weather changes on the day. At that time we will advise you on your options, including the opportunity to reschedule your trip.
