See Capri from the water, where the island’s scale, colours, and coastline make the most sense. This full-day boat experience is designed for guests who want time, space, and freedom to enjoy the island without fixed schedules or shared groups. With a local skipper and a private boat, the day unfolds at a relaxed pace shaped around your preferences.
Your day begins at Marina Grande, Capri’s main harbour, where you meet your skipper and step aboard your chosen boat. After a short briefing, the route follows the island’s coastline, allowing time to settle in, enjoy a drink, and take in views of cliffs, sea arches, and smaller coves that are difficult to reach by land. The pace is unhurried, with flexibility to linger in quieter areas or move on as you prefer.
Cruising continues past Capri’s most recognisable landmarks, including the Faraglioni rock formations, the Natural Arch, and the White and Green Grottos. Seeing these locations from the sea gives a different sense of scale and detail, particularly as the light changes throughout the day. Your skipper will suggest swimming spots along the way, choosing sheltered areas with clear water whenever conditions allow.
Between stops, there’s plenty of time to relax on board, whether that means sunbathing, sitting in the shade, or enjoying refreshments. The itinerary can be adjusted throughout the day, keeping the experience personal rather than structured. The return to Marina Grande is a calm final cruise along the coast, rounding off a day focused on comfort, privacy, and unforced exploration.
The tour departs from Marina Grande, Capri’s main port and the island’s primary arrival point by sea. From here, the boat quickly leaves the busier ferry area and begins to trace the island’s perimeter, offering views of Anacapri’s high cliffs and the more secluded sides of the coastline. Many of the areas visited are only accessible by boat, giving a different perspective from what’s visible on land.
Along the route, you’ll cruise past natural arches, sea caves, and small inlets used mainly by local boats. Highlights typically include the Faraglioni on the island’s southern side, quieter swimming coves away from organised beaches, and stretches of coastline where the water remains clear even during peak season. Starting and ending in Capri keeps the experience centred on the island itself, without long transfer journeys.
Guests should be comfortable boarding a boat from the harbour, either independently or with light assistance from the skipper. Movement on board is generally straightforward, but a basic level of mobility is required to move between seating areas and to enter the water during swimming stops.
Children are welcome on board but must be supervised by an adult at all times. This experience is not recommended for guests with significant mobility limitations or for those who may find uneven surfaces challenging, as the boat and harbour conditions can vary on the day.
This experience is delivered by a long-established local team with deep knowledge of Capri and its surrounding waters. The focus is on small details that make a difference on the day, from careful route planning to choosing swim stops based on real-time conditions rather than fixed plans. Skippers are selected not only for their qualifications, but also for their ability to read the pace of the group and adapt the day accordingly.
Rather than running to a rigid timetable, the approach is flexible and guest-led. Boats are well maintained, itineraries are shaped around comfort and safety, and the aim is always to create a day that feels personal rather than packaged. Many guests return year after year, valuing consistency, discretion, and the feeling of being well looked after without the experience feeling over-managed.
The boat is reserved exclusively for your group, with no other guests joining at any point. This allows the skipper to focus entirely on your pace, preferences, and comfort, rather than balancing multiple groups with different expectations.
Because the experience is private, decisions about swimming stops, cruising speed, and time spent at landmarks can be adjusted as the day unfolds. This flexibility is one of the main reasons guests choose this option over shared tours.
Swimming is included whenever conditions allow, but it always depends on sea state and safety on the day. The skipper selects locations based on shelter, visibility, and boat traffic, rather than fixed stops, which usually results in calmer water.
If conditions are not suitable at a particular point, the route can be adjusted to find better spots later in the day. The aim is quality time in the water rather than rushing into less comfortable areas.
The tour suits a wide range of guests, including couples looking for a relaxed day, families wanting space and flexibility, and friends celebrating a special occasion. The private setting makes it easy to adapt the atmosphere without feeling constrained by a schedule.
It is also a good option for guests who prefer a quieter alternative to busy beaches or organised group tours, as much of the time is spent away from high-traffic areas.
Weather and sea conditions are monitored closely, and safety always takes priority. If conditions are unsettled, the skipper may suggest a modified route that stays closer to sheltered parts of the island.
In cases where conditions are unsuitable for sailing, the experience may be rescheduled or cancelled in line with the cancellation policy. Any decisions are made with clear communication and with guest safety as the main concern.
Highlights typically include the Faraglioni rock formations, the Natural Arch, the White and Green Grottos, and secluded cliffs around Anacapri. The skipper may also navigate around small coves and inlets for swimming that are not accessible by land.
The route is flexible and may include additional sights depending on sea conditions, providing a perspective of Capri’s coastline that most visitors never experience.
Yes, children are welcome but must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian. Life jackets are provided for younger guests, and the skipper ensures safe swimming zones are chosen.
This tour is suitable for families who want a private experience that balances sightseeing, swimming, and time to relax on deck.
