Starting close to the shoreline, this private cycling experience follows a relaxed route shaped by the sea, local history, and traditional coastal life. The ride is flexible, allowing adjustments based on pace, comfort, and preference, making it suitable for a wide range of riders.
The ride begins close to the city before gradually moving towards quieter coastal stretches where the atmosphere becomes more open and relaxed. You’ll cycle along sheltered routes where the sea stays close throughout, offering continuous views and a steady connection to the coastline. The pace is adapted to the group, making it accessible whether you prefer a steady ride or something a little more active.
As the route continues, you’ll pass through traditional fishing areas that reflect the region’s long-standing connection to the ocean. Small ports and working harbours give a sense of everyday coastal life, while the surrounding landscape shifts between sea views and gentle inland sections. The guide will adjust the route depending on conditions and group comfort, ensuring the experience stays enjoyable throughout.
Towards the later part of the ride, the route opens out towards areas known for Txakoli vineyards, where rolling green landscapes meet the coastline. It’s a natural point to slow the pace, take in the surroundings, and enjoy a short break with a coffee and snack before heading back. The return follows a flexible path, adapted to timing and energy levels.
The starting point in San Sebastián places you close to both urban access and coastal riding routes, making it easy to transition from city streets to quieter shoreline paths. From here, the route naturally follows the edge of the sea, where traffic-free sections and coastal tracks create a comfortable cycling environment.
The wider region is known for its mix of maritime heritage and hillside vineyards, with traditional fishing towns and agricultural landscapes sitting close together. This combination makes it easy to experience both sea-facing views and inland scenery within a single ride, without long transfers or complex navigation.
You should feel comfortable riding a bike independently on mixed terrain, including some light inclines and varied surfaces. No advanced cycling ability is required, but basic confidence and control are important for enjoying the route safely.
The experience is adaptable, so pace and distance can be adjusted depending on fitness and preference. If needed, the guide will modify sections of the route to ensure it remains comfortable and enjoyable for all participants.
