Covering both Capri and the Amalfi Coast in one day, this experience is designed for guests who want variety without feeling rushed. Travelling by boat keeps the day smooth and adaptable, with time for coastal cruising, swimming, and sightseeing from the water. The route and pace are shaped around your group, making it easy to focus on what matters most to you.
The day begins at Marina Piccola in Sorrento, where you meet your skipper and board the boat after a short welcome and safety briefing. Leaving the harbour, the coastline quickly opens up, revealing rocky headlands and smaller coves that are missed by road. Cruising is kept comfortable and steady, with space to move between shaded seating and open deck areas. When conditions are right, the skipper will suggest suitable places for a swim early in the day.
Capri is typically reached first, allowing time to explore the island’s outer coastline by boat. From the water, you’ll pass well-known rock formations, sea arches, and grotto areas that give Capri its distinctive character. If requested, time ashore can be arranged near the port, giving you freedom to walk, shop, or pause for refreshments before returning on board.
Later, the tour continues toward the Amalfi Coast. Cruising along this stretch highlights towns such as Positano and Praiano, along with dramatic cliff faces and natural inlets. Time is spent enjoying the coastline from offshore rather than rushing between stops. The return to Sorrento is relaxed, offering a calm end to a full and varied day on the water.
Departure takes place from Marina Piccola, the main port of Sorrento, located just below the town centre. Leaving directly from this harbour allows quick access to open water, with views back toward Sorrento’s cliffs as the boat heads south. The surrounding area is known for its rocky shoreline and clear water, making it a natural starting point for swimming stops.
Capri is approached entirely by sea, allowing the boat to circle the island and explore areas beyond the main harbour. The Amalfi Coast portion of the route follows the shoreline past well-known villages and steep coastal sections, giving a clear sense of how the towns sit between the mountains and the water.
Guests should be comfortable stepping on and off the boat at the dock and moving around while underway. Children of all ages are welcome but must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
The experience involves several hours on the water, which may not suit guests with severe mobility limitations. Wheelchair access is not available, and anyone pregnant or with medical concerns should seek professional advice before booking.
Each tour is run by a team with long-standing experience along the Sorrento, Capri, and Amalfi Coast routes. Skippers know how to adjust timing and routes based on daily conditions, helping the day feel smooth rather than overplanned. Attention is given to pacing, comfort, and choosing suitable spots for swimming and cruising rather than following a rigid script.
A small selection of well-maintained boats allows groups to choose the option that fits their size and style. The approach is personal rather than mass-market, with clear communication before departure and flexibility during the day. The aim is to create a well-balanced experience that feels considered and easy from start to finish.
Time is shared between cruising around Capri, travelling along the Amalfi Coast, and relaxing on board. The exact balance depends on conditions and your preferences, with no fixed schedule forcing you to rush from one area to another.
Some groups choose to spend more time circling Capri and less time along the coast, while others focus on the Amalfi stretch. The skipper will discuss options with you during the day.
Going ashore is optional. Many guests are happy to explore Capri entirely from the water, enjoying views of rock formations and grotto areas without navigating busy streets.
If you do choose to disembark, time ashore is flexible and can be kept short or extended within the overall duration of the tour.
Yes, swimming and snorkelling are included whenever conditions allow. Stops are chosen for calmer water and ease of access, rather than fixed locations.
On days with busier traffic or changing conditions, swimming may take place earlier or later in the route to ensure comfort and safety.
The tour is well suited to guests who want to relax rather than fill every hour with activity. Cruising time, shaded seating, and onboard refreshments make it easy to enjoy the day without constant movement.
Those who prefer to stay on board while others swim or go ashore can do so comfortably, without missing out on the overall experience.
Families often opt for larger boats to allow more space during a full day on the water. Life jackets are available, and the skipper can adapt cruising speed and stops to suit younger guests.
Regular breaks between cruising sections help keep the day manageable for children, with swimming stops providing a chance to cool off and reset.
Routes may be adjusted to avoid rougher sections of water, and the order of Capri and the Amalfi Coast can change if needed. These decisions are made on the day to improve comfort and safety.
If conditions are unsuitable for part of the route, alternatives will be discussed so the day remains enjoyable rather than cancelled unnecessarily.
