The first days ease you in around Ba Be with rolling lanes and lake views before longer transfers toward Cao Bang and Ban Gioc. Elevation profiles vary by season, but guides choose rideable sections and offer van alternatives on the steepest passes.
The week ends on the coast with a recovery cruise among limestone islands, optional lagoon kayaking, and a gentle last ride before the transfer back to Hanoi. Bikes and helmets are provided for riding days.
We are cyclists and road captains as much as tour leaders, with supported itineraries across Ba Be, Cao Bang, and the coast that we refine after every season. Our guides choose quieter lanes, manage van backup honestly on steep days, and maintain bikes and helmets to a standard they would use themselves.
We keep groups small enough to stay together on village roads, coordinate homestay dinners and the bay cruise segment without losing riding time, and explain daily distance options in plain language. You ride with a Hanoi team that treats northeast cycling as a speciality, not a generic add-on to a sightseeing bus.
You should be comfortable riding fifty to eighty kilometres on some days with hills, or willing to use the support van when needed. Prior road cycling experience helps with gearing and group pacing.
Helmets and maintained bikes are supplied. Bring cycling shorts, gloves if you use them, and spare layers for descents. The team adjusts daily distance to weather and group fitness.
Meet in Hanoi Old Quarter for morning departure on day one. The team confirms pickup time after you book.
Final day drop off is in Hanoi Old Quarter or at your hotel when traffic allows. Allow a little flexibility at the end of the day so your driver can reach your accommodation safely.
