The waters off Cala Granadella offer a rare chance to paddle through hidden bays and discover sea caves few visitors ever see. This kayak tour combines relaxed paddling, snorkeling, and exploration of secluded beaches with geological and marine wonders. Perfect for beginners, families, and anyone wanting a mix of adventure and calm on the water.
Guides provide a quick briefing before you launch from Cala Granadella, a protected bay with crystal-clear waters and striking cliffs. Once on the water, you’ll paddle along the coastline, discovering natural caves, pebble beaches, and secluded inlets.
The first stop is Cala en Caló, an isolated cove reachable only by kayak. Snorkel through a stunning underwater cave, surrounded by schools of fish in pristine waters. Its hidden location ensures peace and privacy, a rare feature along the busy Costa Blanca.
Next, Cova del Llop Marí awaits, a cave rich in marine life and geological formations. Starfish, octopus, and sea urchins inhabit the cave while the colourful rock walls showcase millennia of natural processes. Local legend says migrating sea lions once frequented this cave, giving it its name.
Finally, you’ll reach Cala Ambolo, a quiet beach with historical significance and a peaceful atmosphere. Closed to the public, it’s accessible by kayak and offers a perfect spot for a swim, photos, or simply enjoying the calm surroundings before heading back to the launch point.
Cala Granadella is a sheltered bay at the southern end of Javea, surrounded by cliffs and Mediterranean scrub that protect the waters from wind and waves. It offers calm, clear waters ideal for families and beginners.
The beach is accessed via Granadella Road, approximately 15–20 minutes from Javea town centre. Summer months can be busy, so arriving early or taking a taxi is advised. Parking is limited and sometimes restricted, but a booked kayak reservation helps ensure entry.
No previous kayaking experience is needed. A brief safety and technique session on land introduces paddling, turning, and re-entry skills. Wide, stable kayaks ensure comfort and confidence for new paddlers.
Participants should have basic swimming ability. Children aged four and above are welcome with an accompanying adult. Guides adjust the tour pace based on the group and current sea conditions.
The guides have over ten years of experience exploring Granadella’s coastline, sharing their local knowledge, tips, and stories throughout the tour. Each trip is carefully planned to showcase hidden coves, caves, and beaches inaccessible from land.
Small-group focus and personalised attention ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Guests also receive free professional photographs, so you can focus on paddling, swimming, and snorkeling without worrying about capturing every moment.
You’ll explore Cala en Caló, Cova del Llop Marí, and Cala Ambolo, each offering a different experience — from snorkeling in hidden caves to relaxing on peaceful beaches.
The tour combines paddling with swimming and snorkeling opportunities, letting you experience Javea’s natural beauty both above and below the water.
