Join a first scuba dive or a snorkel session in an indoor freshwater pool at NAS Sports Complex, with instructors beside you the whole time. The visit lasts about two hours and suits guests from age 10 who want a controlled start rather than an open-water boat dive. Discover scuba is a supervised first descent, while the snorkel option keeps you on the surface in the same venue.
After you arrive you hear a safety briefing, then enter the indoor freshwater pool with an instructor. Discover scuba is a supervised first descent in shallow water, with the team holding the kit until you are ready to breathe from the regulator. The snorkel option uses the same pool and the same team, without going on scuba.
The two-hour slot covers briefing and time in the water, so arrive a little early and allow time to change afterwards. Hotel pickup is not included, so you make your own way to NAS Sports Complex and should allow extra time for Dubai traffic. The setting is indoor, so Gulf swell does not decide whether the pool can open.
NAS Sports Complex sits in Dubai as an indoor sports venue rather than a beach. The pool is freshwater and controlled, which is why this taster is aimed at first-timers who want a still body of water instead of a boat ride to a reef.
You will not see coral or boat traffic. The point is a calm first look at scuba or snorkel kit under instructors, then you change and leave from the same complex. Parking at the venue can be busy at peak times, so a taxi drop-off is often simpler.
No dive card is required. Guests must be at least 10, able to follow a briefing in English and comfortable putting their face in water. An adult from your party should stay on site with a 10-year-old.
Bring a passport, as identification is required on arrival. Pack swimwear, a towel and flip-flops for the complex, and leave jewellery in a locker if one is offered.
Discover scuba and snorkel sit in one product at the same indoor pool, so you choose how far under the surface you want to go. Instructors stay with you, and the two-hour slot is built for a first visit rather than a sea crossing.
Freshwater and a still pool take Gulf weather out of the equation, which keeps the taster predictable. You leave from the same complex you arrived at, with no boat transfer and no open-water current to manage on a first try.
No certification is required for the discover scuba option. Instructors run a controlled first dive in freshwater, not an open-water course. The snorkel option is for guests who want the pool without scuba kit.
If you already hold a dive qualification, this is still a taster in an indoor pool, not a deep wreck dive at sea. Follow the briefing either way so the team know how you prefer to start.
You should be able to swim a little, put your face in water and follow an instructor in a pool for about two hours including the briefing. You are not hiking or carrying tanks a long way across a boat deck.
Discover scuba is a supervised first descent in shallow water, with the team holding the kit until you are ready to breathe from the regulator. The snorkel option stays on the surface in the same venue, which asks less swimming effort.
The minimum age is 10. Child and adult prices are listed. A passport is required when you arrive.
Group size is one to 15. Younger children under 10 are not part of this outing. An adult from your party should stay on site with a 10-year-old.
Bring a passport, swimwear, a towel and flip-flops for the complex. Leave jewellery in a locker if one is offered. Wear clothes you can change out of easily after the pool.
Hotel collection is not included. Make your own way to NAS Sports Complex in Dubai and allow time to find the pool entrance named in your confirmation email.
The session runs in a controlled indoor freshwater pool with instructors beside you. Discover scuba is a supervised first dive, not a solo descent. The snorkel option stays on the surface with the same team.
Tell the instructor if you want to stay shallow or end the water time early. Signal at once so they can help you to the side rather than pushing on.
The outing lasts about two hours, covering briefing and time in the pool. Exact water time depends on whether you have chosen discover scuba or snorkel.
Arrive a little early so arrival formalities do not eat the briefing. This is an indoor slot, so it is not tied to Gulf swell.
Gulf swell does not decide whether the pool can open, because the session is indoor freshwater. A venue closure can still mean the slot cannot run, even though weather rarely stops this taster.
If the session cannot run, the team will offer another time. Check messages before you travel to NAS Sports Complex.
Many first-timers worry about breathing from a regulator. The briefing happens in shallow water with an instructor holding the kit until you are ready.
If you would rather stay on the surface, choose the snorkel option instead of discover scuba. You can still see the indoor pool without going on scuba.
You meet at NAS Sports Complex, Dubai. Hotel collection is not included, so use a taxi or car and allow extra time for traffic.
Exact entrance notes come in your confirmation email. Arrive early, show your passport and wait at the pool desk. Parking at the complex can be busy at peak times.
Your confirmation email arrives with your time and whether you have chosen discover scuba or snorkel. Reply with guest names and ages.
On the day, bring your passport, wear swimwear under your clothes, and be at NAS Sports Complex for the briefing. Tell the team before the day if you need to move the slot.
