Limestone scars, green valleys and open moorland: the Yorkshire Dales reward a different walk every time you return. Scheduled routes span the national park from Malham and Wharfedale to Wensleydale and the Three Peaks fringe, offering everything from gentler valley days to harder fell walks on higher ground.
Each scheduled day visits a different part of the Dales, from the limestone pavements and scars above Malham to the green valleys of Wharfedale and Wensleydale and the open moorland on the fringe of Three Peaks country. Your guide manages safety and keeps the group at a comfortable pace suited to the terrain.
The specific walk and meeting point are confirmed once your date is set, based on the scheduled event and forecast conditions. Harder fell routes with greater distance and ascent suit walkers with previous hill experience.
Walks take place throughout the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with meeting points in the Malham area, Wharfedale and Littondale valleys, Wensleydale around Hawes and Bainbridge, and the southern fringe of Three Peaks country near Ingleton and Horton-in-Ribblesdale.
Full directions are sent ahead of your walk day so you know exactly where to arrive and what character of Dales landscape your route will explore.
Fitness requirements depend on the chosen route. Valley walks suit enthusiastic beginners, while harder fell days on high Dales moorland require previous hill experience and good stamina for a full day on exposed ground.
Bring waterproof boots, full waterproof clothing, warm layers and enough food and water for six to eight hours on the hill regardless of which route is scheduled.
A guided walk lets you soak up Dales landscape, limestone scenery and village character without navigation worries on indistinct moorland paths. We know the best lines through each valley and the finest viewpoints away from the busiest routes.
Whether you are discovering the Dales for the first time or returning to explore a new valley, our guides adapt the pace and the route to keep the day safe, enjoyable and full of local insight.
