Join a ten-day dive expedition in Baja California Sur, exploring the Sea of Cortez when conditions are prime for blue-water action, reef life and memorable pelagic encounters.
After arriving in Baja California Sur and meeting the group, you settle into accommodation and attend a full expedition briefing. Diving days mix reef sites with open-water locations where marlin and jack schools are possible, with two or three dives scheduled on most days.
The programme builds in rest time between intensive dive days so you can recover, review logbooks and enjoy the coastline between sessions. Each day brings something different, from protected bays to offshore seamounts where larger species pass through at certain times of year.
The Sea of Cortez between Baja California and mainland Mexico is renowned for marine biodiversity, nicknamed the world's aquarium by Jacques Cousteau. Warm currents bring pelagic species while protected bays offer colourful reef diving.
La Paz and the southern Baja coast serve as gateways to sites ranging from sea lion colonies to offshore seamounts. November sits at the end of the warm season, when water temperatures and visibility are often still excellent for blue-water diving.
Advanced Open Water certification or equivalent is recommended, with comfortable experience in currents and blue-water conditions. Some sites involve drift diving and encounters with larger pelagic species that suit confident, experienced divers.
Your logbook is reviewed before the expedition. Bring passport, any entry documentation and personal kit suited to November water temperatures.
We run expedition-style trips for divers who already trust our safety standards and want to experience one of the Pacific's great dive regions with a familiar group leader. Pre-trip coordination covers paperwork, kit and travel advice before you fly.
Ten days in the Sea of Cortez gives time to reach varied sites without rushing, from protected reefs to open-water locations where pelagic action is at its best. You travel as a small centre group with a leader who knows how to balance ambitious diving with sensible pacing across the full expedition.
