Watch the day draw to a close from one of the best viewpoints in Ibiza – right on the water. This guided sunset kayak tour combines coastal exploration, sea caves, snorkelling and a relaxed paddle through the island's quieter northern coastline. As the sun begins to sink towards the horizon, you'll enjoy a unique perspective of Ibiza that few visitors get to experience.
Beginning at Es Portitxol in Portinatx, you'll meet your guide, collect your equipment and take part in a short paddling lesson before launching onto the water. From there, you'll paddle along Ibiza's northern coastline, exploring the sheltered bays and rocky shoreline surrounding Cala Xarraca, an area known for its crystal-clear waters and impressive sea caves.
During the trip, you'll have opportunities to paddle into caves, discover hidden corners of the coastline and stop for a snorkelling session at Cala Xuclar. A break along the way includes a drink and snack while you relax beside the sea before continuing the journey.
Towards the end of the excursion, the pace slows as everyone gathers in a peaceful spot offshore to watch the sunset. Floating gently on the water with uninterrupted views across the Mediterranean creates a memorable end to the experience before paddling back to shore.
Nestled on Ibiza's northern coastline, Portinatx is known for its clear waters, pine-covered hills and quieter atmosphere. The area offers a very different feel from the island's busier resort towns, making it an excellent location for exploring by kayak.
Stretching west towards Cala Xarraca and east towards Cala Xuclar, the coastline features sea caves, rocky inlets and hidden bays that are difficult to access on foot. The sheltered waters and natural scenery make this one of the most rewarding places on the island for a sunset paddle.
Even if you've never kayaked before, this tour is suitable for beginners and families. Your guide will provide a full introduction before setting off, and the pace allows plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings.
Anyone who is pregnant or has a medical condition or accessibility requirement should let the team know before booking so appropriate advice can be given.
Unlike many sunset experiences that simply head out to watch the evening sky, this trip combines exploration, snorkelling and adventure before the sun begins to set. The result is a varied experience that showcases some of Ibiza's most beautiful coastal scenery.
Drawing on years of local knowledge, Lauren and the guiding team know exactly where to find the best caves, sheltered bays and sunset viewpoints. Their relaxed approach, combined with professional qualifications and quality equipment, helps create a fun and memorable evening on the water.
Yes, this experience is designed to be accessible for complete beginners as well as those with previous kayaking experience. Before setting off, you'll receive a paddling lesson and safety briefing so you can feel comfortable on the water.
The route follows a relaxed pace, with plenty of stops along the way. Most people find they quickly gain confidence once they start paddling.
The tour is scheduled specifically to coincide with sunset, giving you the best opportunity to enjoy the changing colours of the sky from the water.
As with any natural event, cloud cover and weather conditions can influence the view, but being out at sea provides a fantastic setting regardless of the exact conditions.
No previous snorkelling experience is required. The snorkelling stop is suitable for beginners, and your guide will explain how to use the equipment provided.
If you would rather stay in the kayak and relax during the stop, that's absolutely fine too. The experience can be enjoyed at your own pace.
While you'll still explore caves, coves and snorkelling spots, the atmosphere changes completely as the day draws to a close. The softer evening light and calmer surroundings create a very different experience on the water.
Many guests find sunset to be the most enjoyable time to paddle, with cooler temperatures and fewer boats along the coastline.
Yes. Families are very welcome on this tour, and children under 7 can sit in the middle seat of a kayak free of charge when accompanied by adults.
The relaxed pace and variety of activities help make the experience enjoyable for both younger and older paddlers.
Swimwear and clothing you don't mind getting wet are recommended. Water-friendly footwear is also useful, particularly if conditions allow for stops in rocky areas.
Many guests also bring a t-shirt, towel, hat and extra layer for after sunset when temperatures can become slightly cooler.
