Spend time out on the water exploring the La Maddalena Archipelago on a spacious catamaran with a small group. This experience blends swimming, relaxed cruising, and a freshly prepared Sardinian brunch served on board.
The day begins with departure from Porto Pozzo, heading straight into the open waters of the La Maddalena Archipelago. As you move through the islands, the changing colours of the sea and the scattered coastline create a constantly shifting backdrop. The route is shaped by the conditions on the day, allowing the skipper to choose the most suitable locations for both comfort and scenery.
Several stops are made in quiet bays, giving you the chance to get into the water whenever you feel like it. Whether you prefer a swim, a snorkel, or simply floating in clear surroundings, each stop offers something slightly different. Paddleboards are available for those who want to explore a little further from the boat, while others may choose to stay on deck and take in the surroundings at their own pace.
During the experience, a Sardinian-style brunch is served, featuring a variety of local products alongside drinks. This is spread out across the day, allowing you to enjoy food and time in the water without feeling rushed. Between stops, there’s time to relax, sunbathe, or sit back and enjoy the steady movement of the catamaran as it travels between islands.
Departing from Porto Pozzo, this experience begins in a quieter part of the northern Sardinian coastline, just a short distance from Palau. The area provides direct access to the La Maddalena Archipelago, meaning you can reach the islands quickly without passing through crowded marina routes. The coastline here is known for its natural inlets and clear water, setting the tone from the very start.
The archipelago itself is made up of several islands, including Spargi, Budelli and Santa Maria. Each offers different coastal features, from shallow sandy areas to rocky coves with deeper water. Travelling by catamaran allows access to these spots with ease, offering a way to experience the islands from the water rather than from land-based viewpoints.
No previous experience is required to take part in this activity. The catamaran provides a stable environment, and the overall pace is designed to be comfortable for a wide range of participants. You should feel at ease being on the water and able to enter and exit the sea if you plan to swim.
It’s recommended to bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat for sun protection. A light jacket or windbreaker can be useful if there is a breeze, and simple footwear such as flip-flops or soft shoes is ideal for on-board use. Snorkelling equipment is provided, although you are welcome to bring your own if preferred.
The experience is designed around small groups, allowing for a more personal and comfortable atmosphere on board. With limited numbers, there is plenty of space to relax, move around, and enjoy each stop without feeling crowded or restricted.
Local knowledge plays a key role in shaping the day, helping to choose suitable routes and anchor points based on conditions. The aim is to offer a balanced experience that combines time in the water, good food, and a relaxed pace throughout, creating a day that feels natural rather than structured.
This experience focuses on keeping the group small and the pace relaxed, allowing you to enjoy each stop without feeling rushed. With fewer people on board, there is more space to move around, sit comfortably, and take in the surroundings without the typical crowded feel of larger boats.
The day is shaped by conditions rather than a fixed route, meaning each outing can feel slightly different. This approach allows access to quieter areas and helps create a more natural flow, combining time in the water, food, and sailing in a way that feels easy and unforced.
The brunch features a selection of Sardinian products prepared to be enjoyed throughout the day. This typically includes a mix of savoury items and light dishes, designed to suit a day spent on the water rather than a formal meal setting.
Drinks are included and served alongside the food, with coffee also available. The idea is to create a relaxed, shared moment during the trip where you can sit back, eat, and enjoy the surroundings without interrupting the overall flow of the day.
Stops are made at various points during the day, depending on the route and conditions. Each stop is chosen to provide calm water and a suitable environment for swimming or snorkelling, rather than sticking to a fixed number.
You’ll have multiple opportunities to enter the water, and there is no pressure to join every stop. Some guests prefer to swim often, while others choose to stay on board and relax, so the experience allows for both options throughout the day.
Yes, a paddleboard is available on board for guests to use during swim stops. It offers a different way to explore the surrounding water, especially in calm areas where you can move around at your own pace.
No previous experience is required to try it, although balance is helpful. You can use it for a short time or simply watch others, depending on your comfort level. It’s there as an extra option rather than a required part of the experience.
Absolutely, you are free to spend the entire experience on board if you prefer. The catamaran provides comfortable space where you can sit, lie down, or enjoy the views while others are in the water.
This makes the experience suitable for those who want a more laid-back day without needing to take part in every activity. You can move at your own pace and decide how involved you’d like to be throughout the trip.
The experience takes place on a catamaran, which offers more stability compared to many single-hull boats. This makes it a comfortable option for spending extended time on the water, especially when moving between locations.
The layout provides both open and shaded areas, giving you flexibility depending on whether you prefer sun or shade. The overall design is suited to relaxed cruising, with enough space for a small group to spread out.
