Georgian Military Highway scenery, a 16th-century fortress above Zhinvali reservoir, and time at Gudauri's ski slopes fill this private 10-hour day from Tbilisi airport. Your vehicle and guide are included; lift tickets, ski hire, and mountain extras are paid on site if you choose to ski.
Your driver-guide collects you at Tbilisi airport and follows the Georgian Military Highway into the Greater Caucasus. Stops usually include views over Zhinvali reservoir, time at the Ananuri architectural complex, and a chance to try Pasanauri khinkali before you reach Gudauri.
At the resort there are eight runs of mixed difficulty and lift lines that reach 3307 metres. You can buy lift access and hire kit locally if you want to ski or snowboard, or simply enjoy the panorama. This is a private sightseeing day with resort time, not a ski school session. The itinerary below sets out the usual shape of the day.
The day begins at Tbilisi airport and climbs the Georgian Military Highway through Mtskheta-Mtianeti. Zhinvali reservoir and Ananuri sit above the Aragvi, with medieval churches and towers looking over the water.
Gudauri is a high ski resort on the same highway, with prepared pistes, big Caucasus views, and a young resort feel. Weather and snow can change quickly at altitude, so the team treats the mountain section as condition-dependent.
No ski-lesson experience is required. Anyone joining a piste session should be fit enough for a long mountain day, happy on snow under their own judgement, and prepared to hire or bring suitable clothing and equipment.
Infants can travel (minimum age 1, with infant seats available). Confirm child seats and any mobility needs when you book. Guests who only want the highway views and fortress stop do not need to ski.
Private pacing means photo stops, lunch timing, and how long you linger at Gudauri can flex around your group rather than a mixed coach timetable. A local driver-guide handles the mountain road so you can watch the landscape change from city fringe to high snow.
The route layers fortress history, reservoir views, and optional slope time into one winter day, with honest extras so you know lift tickets and kit hire sit outside the tour price.
Your driver-guide meets you at Tbilisi airport and heads north on the Georgian Military Highway. City edges give way to river gorge and reservoir views as you climb toward the Greater Caucasus.
Pause for views over Zhinvali reservoir, then walk the Ananuri complex: 16th-century churches and defensive towers above the Aragvi. The stop is unhurried on a private day, with time for photos before you continue toward the high ski valley.
Near Pasanauri there is usually time to try khinkali if you want a proper mountain lunch. Food is paid locally and is not in the tour price. It is a good reset before the last climb to Gudauri.
Gudauri offers eight runs of mixed difficulty and lift lines toward 3307 metres. Buy lift tickets and hire skis or a snowboard if you want to ride; otherwise take in the panorama. Snowmobile and paragliding are optional extras on site and are not included. This is resort time, not a taught ski lesson.
Late in the day you retrace the Military Highway toward Tbilisi. Confirm your preferred finish point when you book, as a formal hotel drop-off is not listed on this product. Keep a warm layer handy for the descent; the temperature shift from resort to city can be sharp.
This departure is built around private pickup at Tbilisi airport. After booking, send your flight number, arrival time, and a working mobile number so the driver-guide can meet you.
If you are already in the city rather than landing that morning, say so when you confirm: the listed product is airport collection, and any other start point needs agreeing in advance. Wear warm layers from the outset; Gudauri sits much higher and colder than Tbilisi.
No. This is a private day trip to Gudauri with sightseeing on the Georgian Military Highway. Your vehicle and guide are included. Time at the resort is yours to use for views, photos, or optional skiing.
Lift tickets, cable-car fares, ski or snowboard hire, and lessons are not in the tour price. Buy them at Gudauri if you decide to go on the snow. Snowmobile and paragliding are also paid extras on site.
The listed start is private pickup at Tbilisi airport. Share your flight number and arrival time after booking so the driver-guide can plan the meet.
Hotel collection in the city is not the listed product. If you are already staying in Tbilisi, ask when you confirm whether a different start can be agreed. Formal hotel drop-off at the end of the day is also not listed, so confirm your preferred finish point in Tbilisi in advance.
Plan for about 10 hours from airport pickup through the highway stops and Gudauri time, then the return toward Tbilisi. Exact timing depends on traffic, weather, and how long you linger at the fortress or on the slopes.
The usual shape is Zhinvali views, Ananuri's churches and towers, a food stop near Pasanauri if you want khinkali, then Gudauri. Your private group can linger or move on without waiting for a mixed coach.
Zhinvali reservoir sits on the Aragvi with medieval towers in the view. Ananuri is a 16th-century architectural complex, once tied to the princes of the Aragvi, with churches and defensive towers above the water.
You walk the grounds at an easy sightseeing pace. Surfaces can be uneven and cold in winter, so wear shoes with grip and keep a warm layer handy even if Tbilisi felt mild at pickup.
Yes, if conditions allow and you buy lift access and kit locally. Gudauri has eight runs of mixed difficulty and lift lines, including a ride toward 3307 metres. Beginners and more confident skiers both use the resort, but this booking does not include instruction.
If you would rather not ski, the high viewpoint and highway scenery still make the day worthwhile. Tell your guide your plan so timing at the resort can match whether you are hiring kit or simply walking around.
Live dates are shown at checkout. Pick a date there, including winter days when Gudauri is operating, rather than relying on a printed season window.
Snow and lift opening still depend on the winter. If skiing is your main aim, choose a date that is actually offered and confirm closer to travel. On a thin-snow day the highway viewpoints and Ananuri stop can still run even if piste time is shorter.
The minimum age on this product is 1, and infant seats are listed as available. Say how old each child is when you book so the right seat can be prepared.
A full 10-hour mountain-road day is long for very young children. Pack snacks, layers, and patience, and decide in advance whether anyone in the group will actually ski or will treat Gudauri as a viewpoint stop.
Meals and drinks are not included. A stop near Pasanauri is a common chance to try khinkali, paid directly at the restaurant. Dinner or other meals along the highway are also at your own cost.
Bring cash or a card that works in Georgia. If anyone has dietary needs, mention them when you confirm so the guide can help choose a sensible stop without promising a set menu.
This is a private tour for your party, with a listed range of 1 to 15 guests. You are not combined with other travellers on this product.
Vehicle type will match the group size. If you are close to the maximum, say so early so luggage, ski bags, and child seats can be planned. Solo travellers can book the private day rather than waiting for a group departure.
The listing is weather-dependent because Gudauri sits high on the Military Highway. Wind, poor visibility, or thin snow can shorten slope time or make lift access less appealing, even when the fortress stop is still worthwhile.
Your driver-guide will read conditions on the day. Flexible cancellation terms apply as shown at checkout. If your plans change, message promptly so another date can be discussed where the booking channel allows.
