Snowmobile riding through forest takes you to a frozen lake near Levi, then you fish through the ice with your guide. About three hours includes warm drinks and snacks at the hole, after the ride out. Soup lunch with dessert and coffee can be added if you want more than snacks, and that only comes if you added it when you booked.
Machines come first, with a briefing and kit, because you are riding to the lake rather than arriving by van, then licences and heights are checked. Licensed drivers follow your guide through the forest, passengers need 140 cm, and a smaller child can use the guide's sled when it is available. Tell us who is driving and who is riding as a passenger so the machines match the group.
On the lake your guide cuts the hole, sets the line, and shows you how winter fishing works, and after the ride most of the time is quiet waiting. Hot drinks and snacks are included, and the soup lunch only comes if you added it when you booked. Riding back to your Levi accommodation happens whether or not anything takes the bait, and the same guide stays with you for the ride home.
Tracks through the trees reach the lake, not a road you could drive yourself, so you ride out and then fish on the frozen lake. Guides pick the spot for the ice that day, and there is no public map pin to navigate to. Levi sits behind you once the forest closes in, which is the point of riding out rather than fishing beside a hotel.
Lakes around Levi freeze in season in Finnish Lapland, and the forest tracks between the resort and the ice are the ground this outing uses. Fishing happens on the lake itself, with the hole as the stop rather than a cafe in the village. Ride out and ride home sit inside the three hours, not an extra transfer you arrange separately.
Licence cards belong at the briefing, and no earlier fishing or snowmobile experience is required because both are taught on the day. Passengers need 140 cm, and children need to be at least four. Share heights and who is driving when you book, including anyone who needs the guide's sled.
Cold after riding feels different from a loop that never stops, because you will sit still on the ice, and a warm base layer under the suit we provide makes that wait more comfortable. Share dietary notes for snacks or the optional soup, because the soup lunch only appears if you added it. Gloves you can take off at the hole are more useful than a single pair you cannot spare.
One guide covers the snowmobile and the fishing, so you are not handed over mid-morning to a second person at the lake. Helmet, winter kit, fishing gear and a snack stop are included, and collection from your stay is part of the outing. Optional soup lunch is there if you want more than snacks, and it is booked in advance rather than guessed on the ice.
Treat a catch as a bonus, because the morning still happens if you do not catch anything. Forest riding is part of the outing, not a long transfer you could skip. The same machines that take you out bring you home after time at the hole, with your guide still leading the line.
Collection in Levi, licence and height checks, then the snowmobile briefing. You ride to the lake from here, with the forest track as the way out rather than a road you drive yourself.
Your guide sets pace for the least confident driver before the ice appears through the trees.
On the ice your guide opens a hole and sets the line. You fish for the time the three hours allow, with warm drinks and snacks. The soup lunch only appears if you added it. A fish is a welcome bonus.
We teach the winter method step by step rather than handing you a rod for a quick photo.
Back on the machines to the same accommodation. The ice has to have been sound for any of this to happen. If it was not, you will have heard before we kitted you up.
Drop-off uses the address we collected you from in Levi.
About three hours join snowmobiling and ice fishing: you drive to the lake, then fish with warm drinks and snacks at the hole. A soup lunch with dessert and coffee can be added when you book and is not part of the standard snack stop.
Drivers need a physical licence. Passengers need 140 cm. Children under four are generally off the ride, with the guide's sled for a smaller child when that sled is out.
We meet you at your Levi accommodation, then you get on the machine. There is no separate depot to find in the dark or the snow.
We need your address, a mobile number, and children's heights. The height rule is 140 cm for a pillion seat, and it is easier to fail once the suit is on than in the hotel lobby.
You do not need earlier experience of either activity. The snowmobile briefing and the fishing line are both taught before you need them.
A catch is not part of the promise. The ride out and the time on the ice are the outing, whether or not anything takes the bait.
Helmet, winter kit, and fishing gear are provided. Your base layer must work for two temperatures: moving on the machine, then sitting still at the hole, which is when people get cold.
Wear wool or synthetic underneath. Cotton is a mistake on the ice even if it felt fine on the ride there.
Drinks and snacks are included. The soup lunch with dessert and coffee is an extra you add when you book. If you want it, say so with dietary detail when you reserve.
Warm drinks and snacks at the hole are included with the ride and fishing.
The outing is private and can start from one guest. Your booked party size is what we plan machines and holes for. Extra drivers at the door do not fit a three hour ice slot.
Send ages and heights before the day. A passenger under 140 cm is a sled question, not a squeeze onto the seat.
Seventy-two hours notice earns a full refund. Inside that window, or a no-show, the machines and guide stay charged. Unsafe ice is our reason to move the plan, and you hear that on your mobile. Grey sky alone is not a reason to cancel inside the window.
This outing needs sound ice. The snowmobile does not make thin ice acceptable.
A photographer is an extra. You will want your hands free for a line and for the machine, which is a lot to ask of one person with a phone.
At the hole, once you are off the snowmobile, photos are straightforward. On the track they are not.
Yes. Collection in Levi is followed by the snowmobile briefing, then you ride through forest to the frozen lake. Fishing starts once you are off the machines at the hole.
The same guide stays with you for the ride and the lines. Warm drinks and snacks are at the hole, and the optional soup lunch only appears if you added it when you booked.
We need names, ages, heights, your Levi address, a mobile number, snack or soup lunch requirements, and a physical licence for every driver.
Say if you want the soup extra. Hoping it appears at the hole without booking it is how groups end up with snacks only.
