The Youth Windsurf Camp is designed to offer young people the chance to experience and develop their windsurfing skills, regardless of their level. Whether your child is starting out or looking to refine their technique, the camp provides a supportive and fun environment to progress at their own pace. With the expert guidance of certified instructors, participants will have access to top-quality equipment and facilities, ensuring they have a safe and enjoyable experience on the water.
Each day at the Youth Windsurf Camp offers structured sessions tailored to the ability level of the group. Beginners will focus on mastering the fundamentals, such as balancing on the board, controlling the sail, and learning how to steer. For those with prior experience, the camp provides a more advanced curriculum, with sessions aimed at refining skills and tackling more challenging manoeuvres.
Throughout the week, instructors will give individual feedback to ensure everyone makes progress. The team will also encourage an active, social atmosphere where participants can make new friends while developing their windsurfing techniques.
Intermediate to advanced participants can select the days that best suit their schedule, while beginners should attend the first 1-2 days to ensure they progress together with their group. The emphasis throughout the camp is on building confidence, providing a fun and safe environment for learning, and encouraging consistent participation.
The camp is located at Osprey Quay, Portland, Dorset, DT5 1SA, a prime location for watersports. This area is well-known for its favourable wind conditions, making it ideal for windsurfing throughout the year.
The facilities include free parking, showers, and charging rooms, so participants can feel comfortable and refreshed after their sessions on the water.
There are no specific prerequisites for beginners, although a good level of fitness is recommended. For participants with previous experience, a member of the team will contact you after booking to ensure they are placed in the correct group based on their ability.
This ensures that all participants, regardless of their experience, will receive the appropriate level of instruction and progression.
