Autumn forest and lakeside paths near Levi are where you walk with your guide, learning which berries and mushrooms can be picked that week and what should stay on the ground. About four hours includes the forage and a campfire lunch by the lake, and wild finds go in the pot when there are some. Private groups of two to twelve guests share one fire.
Easy walking starts after collection from your accommodation, with your guide stopping to identify what is in season. Picking is only what you are shown, and the walk stays slow even when the woods are quiet that week. Share children's ages when you book so the path can suit everyone walking.
Lunch cooks on a fire by the lake, and anything you gather can go into the meal when there is some; you still eat well when the woods are thin, because the lunch is planned as a proper meal rather than a bet on a full basket. Food is eaten at the lake, not packed home, then we drive you back. Afternoons stay local to Levi and Sirkka rather than a long transfer.
Lakeside woods stay close to Levi and Sirkka, so four hours can hold a real walk and a cooked lunch without a long transfer. Autumn colour and a lake edge for the fire are the setting, and paths can be wet and uneven even when the village looks dry. Dirt and leaf litter rather than packed snow is what you walk, because this is an autumn outing on forest paths.
Village area for this forage is Levi and Sirkka in Finnish Lapland. Lakes for the fire sit on the same local ground as the walk, not a second venue across the resort. Starting from your stay and finishing there, you have the woods and the shore in between.
Foraging experience is not required, because you pick only what your guide shows you. Share children's ages so the path can suit everyone walking, and the group is two to twelve guests around one fire. Easy-pace walking on paths that can be wet and uneven should feel comfortable.
Pack sturdy shoes and outdoor clothes you are happy to get a little dirty, because autumn woods stay damp even on a fair day. Send lunch allergies when you book, so the fire meal can be planned. The walk stays at an easy pace on those damp paths, so you do not need winter walking kit for this afternoon.
Guides can pause for a single mushroom without a queue behind you, because the forage is private. Lunch by the lake is part of the afternoon, not a promise that you will fill a basket every week, and the meal still happens when the woods are quiet. Collection from your stay and cooking at the fire mean we are not sending you home with raw finds.
Wild harvest goes in the pot when there is some, and the lunch is planned as a proper meal either way. Two to twelve guests share one fire, which keeps the afternoon a private group rather than a public forage. Same guide walks with you and stays for the meal before the drive home.
We collect you in Levi and enter local forest, starting with what is actually available to pick that week. The briefing is practical: what you may take, what stays on the ground, and how the afternoon will unfold.
You search for berries and mushrooms with your guide, picking only what you are shown. The pace is easy and meant for looking closely, not covering distance for its own sake.
Lunch cooks on a campfire by the lake, with harvest in the pot when the woods provide it. After the meal we drive you back to the same accommodation where the afternoon began.
About four hours of forest walking, foraging with your guide, and a campfire lunch by a lake. The pace is easy and built around looking and learning.
The outing is private for two to twelve guests. It does not run for a solo traveller, and twelve is the practical limit around one fire.
Children are welcome when they can walk uneven forest ground with an adult. Send ages when you reserve so your guide chooses a realistic path.
You do not need foraging experience. Your guide shows what to take and what to leave, and stops anyone picking something they have not been shown.
Yes. We cook at a campfire by the lake, adding wild harvest to the meal when the forest provides it that week.
Send detailed allergies when you reserve. A thin forage week still brings a planned meal, not an empty fire.
We collect you from your Levi accommodation, walk local forest and lakeside paths, and return you to the same address after lunch.
Share a full address and a mobile that works during your stay. Uneven ground makes a clear meeting point important.
Cancel at least 72 hours before start for a full refund. Inside that window, or on a no-show, the guide and lunch provisions stay charged.
Autumn weather can shift the path. We call the mobile on your booking if plans change for safety.
Outdoor clothes and sturdy shoes with grip. The ground is often wet underfoot even on bright days.
Bring a spare layer in a bag. You warm up walking and cool down sitting by the lake while food cooks.
This is an autumn experience when berries and mushrooms are worth talking about in the forest around Levi.
Choose dates when autumn foraging is offered on the calendar. Deep winter weeks belong to snow adventures instead.
You learn what can be picked that week, help gather under guidance, and eat a campfire meal that uses the harvest when it exists.
The lesson is the point as much as the lunch. We do not send you off alone or promise a hamper to take home.
Professional photography is an optional extra. Hands are often full at the fire, which is when many guests wish they had booked a photographer.
Your own photos are welcome when the group is stopped. Stay on the path rather than wandering off for an unshown mushroom.
We need names, ages, your Levi address, a mobile number, and specific dietary notes for a meal that may include wild ingredients. Allergies matter more here than on a bun stop.
Tell us if anyone would rather walk than pick, so the forage can stay a forest walk with a campfire lunch rather than a harvest they do not want.
