Experience a full day exploring Ikaria’s wellness traditions and cultural highlights. Along gentle walking paths, you’ll enjoy an outdoor Pilates session, visit a historic monastery, relax at Mesakti Beach, and taste wines at a family-run winery. The day is designed to combine movement, local cuisine, and insight into the lifestyle that supports Ikarians’ longevity.
Begin in Evdilos with a short drive to Mesakti Beach, where you can enjoy a morning walk along the sand or a refreshing swim. Your guide will introduce the day, sharing insights about Ikaria’s lifestyle and wellness practices. Stop in Gialiskari village to enjoy a traditional breakfast of tea and freshly baked pita while taking in local culture and architecture.
Continue to an optional Pilates session set in a quiet outdoor area near Pigi. A certified trainer will guide gentle stretches and movements aimed at relaxation, strength, and flexibility. After the session, travel to a nearby monastery to learn about its history and cultural significance, connecting spiritual practices with the island’s daily life and wellness approach.
Conclude the day at the Karimalis family winery, where you will taste locally produced organic wines and enjoy a vegetarian lunch made with seasonal ingredients. Walk through the vineyards while the guide explains traditional farming practices and local culinary techniques. Return to Evdilos reflecting on a day that blends culture, movement, and local gastronomy.
Evdilos serves as the starting point, a northern port town with traditional architecture and a relaxed pace. From here, paths lead south to Mesakti Beach and through villages like Gialiskari and Pigi, each offering insight into local life and traditional Ikarian practices.
Karimalis winery sits inland amid vineyards and olive groves. Alongside tasting wines, you can observe the agricultural techniques that sustain the island’s food culture. The nearby monastery provides a serene environment for reflection and learning, connecting spiritual heritage to everyday practices that promote wellbeing.
You should be able to manage gentle walking and basic stretching activities. Comfortable clothing suitable for walking, Pilates, and outdoor conditions is recommended, along with a towel, sandals, sun protection, and layers for weather changes.
If you have mobility concerns or specific health conditions, contact the team before booking. Infants under 4 are welcome without meals, and children should be supervised throughout the day, particularly at the beach, Pilates session, and winery.
The team designs experiences that combine wellness, culture, and gastronomy in small groups, giving you a personal and immersive experience. Focused on inclusivity and sustainability, they ensure that each activity supports local communities while giving you authentic insight into Ikaria’s lifestyle.
Guides provide hands-on explanations and demonstrations, covering everything from Pilates movements to culinary practices and historical context. They adapt the itinerary to seasonal conditions, helping you engage safely and fully with each stop.
